Husband, father and fighting games addicted. Always looking for some lost gems and nice indies as well.

Postcard 4: No Regerts is simply something you have to stay away from. It doesn't save itself for the humor, or the gameplay, or the visuals, or for any reason I try to think of to find a positive point.

Police Simulator: Patrol Officers had a good idea, that's for sure. Modestly, it could even have been a "law-side GTA" or just another crazy simulator with a cop but the amount of issues turns it into something totally forgettable and not worth even meme status.

3 / 10.0 - LEGO Brawls
Sep 16, 2022

LEGO Brawls left me really frustrated. Seeing a vast creative opportunity being wasted this way was vexing. Not even having a huge amount of pieces to unlock motivates more than an hour of playing. A shame, to say the least.

Balan Wonderworld is a visually beautiful adventure that even tries to have a captivating story. However, its flaws stand out and make it a very uninteresting game. Not even Yuji Naka's name can bring anything striking to this title, which is a shame.

4.5 / 10.0 - Scar-Lead Salvation
May 27, 2025

Scar-Lead Salvation falters with something that could have been great and delivers a very weak experience. Although it is a game with quite competent controls, the whole thing is compromised by the lack of creativity with enemies, story and levels, which are based on an eternal loop that leaves even the protagonist tired.

Aero the Acro-Bat: Rascal Rival Revenge is the bland and melancholic end to the franchise ports. This title in particular would have been better if accompanying the original game port, as it, as an originally handheld title, doesn't offer enough features to justify buying it alone, unlike the others.

Unfortunately, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants offers an experience far below expectations for a Ninja Turtles beat 'em up. The visual identity based on a more “recent” animation, even though there are already newer ones at the moment, could have been a great element, but the bland and uninteresting set ended up affecting what could be another great group game.

4.5 / 10.0 - The Crown of Wu
Mar 30, 2023

The Crown of Wu isn't the first or the last Journey to the West game adaptation, so there's no need to play it only for the historical value. Unfortunately, the lack of visual polishment and the sluggish movement broke what could have been a fun and fair reproduction of a literary classic.

G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout is nothing more than a generic shooting title that has gained a visual identity based on an established franchise. Its gameplay is inaccurate, its content is scarce and it is not exciting, abusing of repetition. Unfortunately, this is yet another defeat for both Joes and Cobras

Shadow of the Orient is nothing we haven't seen before, and its main idea is actually good, but the conversion to consoles ends up stumbling on some important points that end up discouraging players who enjoy adventures of this type. Add this to the visual issues in the HUD and we have a prospect of what could be a great adventure, but one that urgently needs fixing.

5 / 10.0 - Blazing Strike
Nov 8, 2024

Blazing Strike's intentions were great but various execution issues, along with the meager options and lack of any elements that could give it more replay value, make the title unappealing amidst others that offer much more at a lower cost. If it at least improved the combat and had a trophy system that made the player explore its visually varied cast, it would be a big step to accompany the artistic style that right now is the only highlight.

We live in an age in which streaming platforms already offer interactive productions with high quality. Thus, Mia and the Dragon is a let down from what it could have been. Even though its concept is less dynamic than most [game] genres, the experience offered here of 'controlling a movie' could have been richer and further developed.

Alice Gear Aegis CS: Concerto of Simulatrix came with great variety in customization items and unique personalities for the cast but failed with its massive repetition. Not giving different [gameplay] traits to each actress, or even locking each of them to a weapon type, made gameplay too repetitive. This factor and the repetitive grinding reinforce the feeling of mobile game and fails to live up to the variety a console title should offer to its public.

5 / 10.0 - Deliver Us Mars
Feb 21, 2023

Deliver Us Mars tries to improve on everything its predecessor did that was interesting, but perhaps it tried to do too much at the same time. The narrative is very good and dense, but the various performance problems are perhaps just not a nuisance for those who really enjoyed Deliver Us The Moon.

5 / 10.0 - Wanted: Dead
Feb 14, 2023

Wanted: Dead had a great team and the idea of mixing two action types so distinct was propitious, but unfortunately the game came with many gameplay issues. Besides that, it's inconceivable that the final visual quality is so far from the one shown on the trailers.

5 / 10.0 - Demon Turf
Nov 4, 2021

Demon Turf managed to bring together a number of interesting elements to be a good platform game, with well-structured stages, interesting abilities, a good replay factor and a charismatic character. However, problems in crucial aspects like the camera and character control, which are the main characteristics of the genre, greatly compromise the experience that the game could offer.

Little Big Adventure: Twinsen’s Quest was a great PC golden age era title to bring back to the current age. However, even with the care that went into the visuals, soundtrack and story, the gameplay simplification took a lot of the personality from the original game. Along with a lazy movement and other technical issues, what could have been a grand adventure ended up becoming a small reminder.

5.5 / 10.0 - Frogun Encore
Aug 7, 2024

Frogun Encore could have offered much more as a sequel. Some improvements, such as the level structure and the inclusion of a cooperative mode, were a great idea, but practically none of the previous game's mistakes were fixed; some things were even made worse, such as the camera. This, together with the month-long wait to enjoy the game with the due fix, may have scared away those who were curious to enjoy the sequel to the adventures of Renata and her little frog.

Just like its predecessors, Cyber Citizen Shockman Zero is a cool game to get to know, but it hardly lasts and ends up fighting for the spotlight with modern games with the same concept.

It's a crime to divide the IREM classics in five tiny compilations, and IREM Collection Volume 1 unfortunately gets a blow that its next parts will also get. Besides the structural issues, the way these games are rereleased ends up eclipsing how fun they could be as a single package.
