If you are a more experienced artist, Painting VR offers everything you need including detailed and responsive brushes. If you are new to art, you will need to invest time into learning how to use Painting VR, and I am not sure that many VR users will do that when other experiences on the market offer this already.
RUINSMAGUS is a really good start for JRPG's in VR. Currently, there are not many VR games in this genre, and this game gives users a good feel of what is possible. There is beautiful Japanese narration and many dialog boxes to read as fitting to the genre. You feel like you are playing the lead character in an anime show.
Wands Alliances offers a glimpse into a magical wand fighting world that I can't get enough of. You truly feel like you are a fighting wizard in the streets of a steampunk London. There are a few issues with matchmaking that can be frustrating, especially for new users, but simply starting the next match is a great alternative. Wands Alliances is a beautiful PvP that allows you to fully use your play space and VR in a wonderful and magical way.
For fans of the Evil Dead Franchise, this is a no-brainer and totally worth it. The amount of fan service is excessive, well done, and enjoyable. If you have never watched Evil Dead, there is still a fair amount of fun gameplay here. But will I still be playing this game next year? I'll need some more game modes, characters, and tweaks. In the meantime, it is a groovy good time.
I have mixed feelings about World Of Mechs. On one hand, game matches are short, fun, and full of explosions. On the other hand, the graphics look straight out of 1990s, there are few maps, no lobby, and multiplayer is VERY limited currently.
Channel your inner Bob Ross in this VR app. I really enjoy the projector overlay feature that allows you to take any image from the internet and trace it onto your canvas. Vermillion VR gives you all the tools you need to become a painting pro in no time.
I really wanted to like Startenders. The story is there. There is a lot of attention to detail with the various drink items, environment, and aliens. I was super disappointed with the seated play option, and even the latest tweaks still didn't make it fully playable.
Townsmen VR is a magical city-building VR simulation experience that has countless hours of gameplay fun. The game expands the goals slowly so you don't feel overwhelmed, but keeps you challenged with new things to build. Townsmen VR is a must-have for simulation fans to truly experience city-building game the way it was meant to be experienced.
Expect a challenge though, no one will say Green Hell VR will be easy. There is a large world to explore, a detailed narration story that is interesting and immersive, great graphics and sound, and the threat of death is always just around the corner. Green Hell VR is everything you want in a survival game.
There is a lot of in-game content to explore and cute animals to befriend. The game does have several glitches, bugs, and issues as well as combat being really easy. No Place Like Home will not be for everyone, but those who enjoy collecting, cleaning, and farming simulation games will feel right at home.
Martha is Dead is truly horrific, perhaps in the fact, it is juxtaposed with being so beautiful. This game will make you feel many things and it does it extremely well. Days after finishing the game I continue to think about it. Several of the mini-games are frustrating and could use some tweaking, some worked. Overall, Martha is Dead is totally worth it for gamers looking for a deep, dark, and psychological thriller to explore.
Walkabout Mini Golf is one of the easiest games to pick up and start playing in VR. The one-handed controls are easy enough for anyone to figure out and do. Walkabout Mini Golf just works, is fun, easy to do, and is a must-have for every VR fan.
Resident Evil 4 is one of the most popular video games. Moving it into VR just works. Because the game is roughly 16 years old it works quite well on the stand-alone Meta Quest 2 headset. They have changed several of the components to make you feel very immersed in the VR world and become Leon. You get at least 14 hours of gameplay!
Hide and seek fun. This game is great, easy, and fun. You get an element of PVP but none of the rage that comes with traditional games. Try it out.
After you get past the rather slow start, like all massive world RPG's you eventually get into the swing of things. You know how to deal with food, sleep, and sickness. You have a pretty good idea where the characters are and you are freely going out and exploring. This is when the Good Life really picks up. Once you get over that hump and really immersed in The Good Life Universe. It's so much fun! The world is massive with lots of NPCs. The character stories are detailed and interesting. Naomi starts evolving as a character. Unfortunately as can be seen by many game reviews, I imagine most game reviewers (and many players) do not get to this point.
This bug-filled game transforms you into a bug set right in a Frank Kafka novel. It's creepy-crawly, surreal adventure game fun. The visual, voice acting, and music put you in a magical insect world you will enjoy from start to finish.
The fact that so many different genres of games meshed into one magnificent masterpiece is something very impressive in itself. On top of that, the team used actual photogrammetry of Chernobyl to truly put you in the actual haunting environment of Chernobyl. Mix in some interesting game mechanics, a crazy cast of characters, and some of the best voice acting I've heard in a while. Finish it off with the fact that there are no bugs in my playthrough. I can't give Chernobylite enough credit for what they have accomplished.
The story is very compelling and it draws you in. As you progress there is more and more horror revealed about what exactly went on at the Niwa hotel. Marianne is an interesting protagonist and you want to figure out what is going on with her. The puzzles had just the right amount of complexity, using a uniquely dark world/ light world thinking style to solve many of them. It was different and refreshing. I enjoyed every minute of The Medium.
Little Witch Academia: VR Broom Racing is made for fans of the show via a Kickstarter, but that doesn't mean others will not enjoy this world. It is similar to a basic Mario Kart experience, except you are flying on brooms. This is a great experience for younger VR players.
Layers of Fear 2 is a spooky horror game made for horror fans. Horror Easter Eggs Everywhere! A great game if you are a horror movie or horror video game fan.
