If you are a fan of puzzle platformers then it is probably worth a go, the mechanics are not especially unique but there are some truly enjoyable moments in there. If you are not a fan of the genre, the game is probably not for you. It sticks firmly to its roots very rarely deviating from the model of solving the puzzle and moving to the next room.

For gamers who enjoy reading or art, it may be worth the investment: there is a lot of content, with each of the five chapters being split into two halves and the entire story is intriguing. However, if you do not find yourself able to focus on a book or get easily distracted, ghostpia is likely not for you.

I would go as far as to say that this is not a game but a masterpiece: meant to be observed and appreciated rather than played with. I did not want to put it down or look away and when it ended, I longed for more of the story. Even going about Mimi’s daily life with her Grandma, however insignificant it may seem in the grand scheme of things, filled me with a pleasant warmth. Umanimation and Un je ne sais quoi should be incredibly proud of the work they have produced, and I look forward to seeing what they come out with next.
