Raiden IV X Mikado Remix Reviews
The simplicity of its proposal is above all a virtue, which is enhanced by the great work in the rest of the areas. It has become by its own merits one of my favorite shmups.

Raiden IV x Mikado Remix is a return to form for the flailing Raiden series. Age be damned, Raiden IV’s core gameplay still holds up - the additional content on offer here is just the cherry on an already scrumptious cake. Fans of the genre should jump on this release, and newcomers can gently slide into the game thanks to its myriad of accessibility options.
Raiden IV x MIKADO remix is the most complete version of Raiden IV. It groups together the extras and game modes of the previous versions of this fourth installment, and also adds interesting options such as the TATE mode to get more out of our vertical Nintendo Switch, and of course the star of this edition, a new soundtrack produced by the prestigious Japanese arcade game center Mikado with the participation of artists from the world-class Arcade scene. A must for lovers of Raiden and shoot 'em up.

The original was released back in 2007. Thus Nintendo Switch was more than capable of porting the original in its perfect quality. It utilizes the best feature about the Switch, where you’re able to play 2 player contents with just the single pair of Joycons. Some of the additional music makes this classic arcade shooter even greater than usual. The Nintendo Switch iteration of Raiden IV is well worth the time even after so many years.

With how accessible this entry is, the amount of fun scorechasing modes to enjoy, and online leaderboards and stage selects to mess with, Raiden IV X Mikado Remix is absolutely a shmup worth picking up for $30, and is a must-own for that price. Even if you own Overkill on another platform, I argue that this is still a must-buy for the vertical mode support alone, since it helps make the game so much better here on Switch.
