Critic Reviews for Barn Finders
Barn Finders is a surprisingly good time for a game as janky and weird as it is. Exploring spaces for weird treasure is a lot of fun, selling it back at your shop maybe less so. While the game does little to explain itself, its sense of humor carries it further than it might deserve. Go in expecting to struggle a bit with controls and menus, and you'll be rewarded with a unique experience unlike any other in VR.
I had a decent time with Barn Finders which does make a novel addition to the simulation genre. While the narrative is a little scattered, it feels like a port from VR and suffers as a result. Overall it was fun to play after a slow start and pleasant to look at but it just wasn’t the best experience. I did enjoy the soundtrack and score, very much in keeping with the setting. And while perhaps short and sweet the game will keep completionists happy.
It’s always a pleasant surprise when a game that looks and feels in line with titles you’ve struggled to enjoy in the past breaks through by delivering the goods in some way, and that’s the best way to sum up how I feel about Barn Finders...
Barn Finders consumed me almost immediately with its addictive and intriguing gameplay loop. Not only did I enjoy the managerial aspects of running my own store. I adored exploring the several locations spread across the world map and exploring and discovering everything on offer.
