Brave's Rage gives me conflicting feelings. You can experience creative with real-time card battles, but there is a lack of fun in deck building and exploration, which is a pity.

Brave's Rage is a DBG card game with some depth. Its unique real-time combat system is very clever and can give players a good change of pace, but the game has not shown much potential and the design is quite boring. In version 1.0, the map and mechanics of the game have become richer, but the types of random events are still somewhat lacking.

Again I need to emphasise that Brave’s Rage does nothing wrong. It’s a perfectly competent game that belongs to a sub-genre that has become popular for a reason. There’s even a clever design element or two in the combat, and it’s clear that the developer (and I do believe the studio is a solo dev) has a talent for the craft. Unfortunately, the lack of identity or personality ultimately lets the game down. What could have been charming and bright quickly becomes mired in a loop of mediocre repetition that wears out its welcome well and truly before you get to the end.

Looking at its good gameplay proposals in deckbuilder and active time battle mechanics, Brave's Rage presents itself as a pleasant RPG added to the Switch's indies library. Though it has issues with its personality, the challenges are robust enough to keep us interested for a long time. The adventure shows its ability to offer valious moments, as rich as the reward promised by the king to the Brave who defeats the dragon.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Brave’s Rage. It was a refreshing take on the already crowded deckbuilder genre. With engaging, unique mechanics, plenty of unlockables to encourage repeated playthroughs, various challenges, and plenty of character combinations to explore, there’s a lot to draw in fans and newcomers to the genre alike. While it’s not the easiest or most accessible of deckbuilders out there, I definitely found it to be one of the most unique and enjoyable I’ve encountered in a while.

Brave’s Rage is a noteworthy roguelike due to the variety of cards and skills we can combine in our matches. The traditional repetition of the genre is alleviated by the frequent addition of heroes and the adventure's condition changes. However, some card and item choices can compromise the experience significantly making it less appealing to the players.
