Critic Reviews for McPixel 3

McPixel 3's fast-paced retro-inspired adventure fails to capture the charm of the games it parodies.

McPixel 3 is frantic fun. The mixture of minigame madness and point-and-click puzzles deliver ridiculous outcomes which continue to amuse throughout its relatively short run time. Frustration can build, especially with its often bizarre solutions, however, the humor quickly overrides this. Even though some jokes don’t land, it’s sure to make you laugh, particularly if you enjoy silly and slapstick comedy.

It's a one-of-a-kind experience, and an easy recommendation for anyone open to some cheap laughs in a world where the points don’t matter.

McPixel 3 is a gag-heavy mashup of microgames and '90s adventure puzzles. It works when relying on speed and insanity, but its repetition and heavy reliance on trial-and-error solutions and gross-out humor will turn all but a few players away before completion.

McPixel 3 delivers a unique brand of humor that you can't find anywhere else, but it's sometimes a struggle to work past its aging mechanical structure.

Summarizing McPixel 3 in this piece of text is not easy. Super-crazy adventure, mega-crazy, and worthy of that real image hero that is Johnny Sins. Like him, McPixel will live all kinds of adventures and situations that he will face in more ways, although he will solve others like him. But most importantly, giving a fun game, which is enjoyed advancing and progressing, unlocking levels, getting secrets and curiosities. I firmly believe that we are facing one of the adventures of 2022, for one reason or another.

Ten years is far too long to go without a new McPixel game, but it has been so worth the wait to get something so unabashedly silly. It’s a joyous adventure from start to finish, retaining all of its charm along the way. McPixel’s greatest skill is that of self-preservation, and uncovering all the ways is endlessly amusing. McPixel 3 has a true sense of progression from its open-world to the scenarios, it feels more like a proper game this time around. McPixel 3 combines the ineptitude of MacGruber with the last-minute saves of MacGuyver in totality, and does so with great unpredictability.

Potty humor and explosions are the name of the game in this series of random point-and-click sequences. Trial and error trumps logic, and pee conquers all.
