Demolish & Build Classic Reviews
Demolish & Build Classic takes you on a tour of the "exciting" world of construction contracting. The big problem is that the world of construction and contracting is more of a mundane job with a lot of hard work and very little excitement. Performance issues and a disheartening beginning lead to lots of work and little fun. But if you can get past that, you do get to drive bulldozers, cranes, and the like.
Demolish & Build Classic looks like an original PlayStation game, runs like an early PlayStation 3 game, and controls like a half-hearted attempt at something similar to Grand Theft Auto. Its fun feedback loop, spooky soundtrack, and satisfying sound effects should not go unnoticed, though, and they helped this title avoid pure garbage status.
Since a sledgehammer runs about $100 and destruction of property charges can vary depending on your location, Demolish & Build Classic is an affordable way to experience demolition work, but it’s much less entertaining than the real deal. This almost falls into the “so bad it’s good” territory, but the issues severely outweigh the positives. If you’re really looking for a demo sim, I would recommend the 2017 entry over this one, or you could just apply to work on a construction crew and get money in exchange for your time.
Demolish & Build fails at being an enjoyable game in every single way.
There are few things as fun as a game where you get to destroy everything, so you’d think that Demolish & Build Classic would be a slam dunk. Instead, it’s just a total mess of a game.
While fundamentally it delivers what little the title promises, the jank and control issues are miserable
