Critic Reviews for Vanillabeast: Retro Knock-Out!

VanillaBeast: Retro Knock-Out! embraces the term parody and is full of action-packed, strategy-based combat and humorous jokes, and easter eggs. Overall, it is a fun and hilarious experience that requires attention to detailed combat in order to become victorious. I loved landing a satisfying punch to the jaws of my opponents upon getting a TKO!

VanillaBeast Retro: Knock-Out! is a wacky game with some adult humor and challenging difficulty as it adds a spin on the gameplay loop of Mike Tyson's Punch-Out! It takes some patience to get good at the game but it often doesn't feel worth it to beat the next boxer.

VanillaBeast: Retro Knock-Out! aims to deliver a complete retro experience and I can say that Vanilla Gaming Company managed to deliver what they wanted. Its charming graphics are very reminiscent of old games, as well as its high difficulty, which can also be a factor that puts some players off. Its history and collectibles leave something to be desired, as they do not deliver interesting content and could be better worked on. But ignoring that, it's possible to have a lot of fun—and frustration—with boxing matches.

A good modern replacement for fans of Punch-Out!!! with refreshing ideas and whose operation is almost identical to the classic homage, but sometimes crosses the line between parody and reality with quite macho images under the banner of freedom of expression in humor.
