Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded

Critic Reviews for Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded
Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded is a prime example of a lazy and superficial re-release. It simply rehashes the content from the original Hitman 3, ignoring extra DLCs and the rest of the trilogy—unlike what’s coming to PS VR2—making Meta Quest players feel like second-class citizens. On top of that, there are major issues with gesture controls and accuracy for VR, not to mention a disastrous technical performance. In short, the inherent quality of Hitman 3 isn’t enough to make this version worth your time or money.

The Meta Quest 3 version of Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded is more annoying than entertaining. This VR port is a huge disappointment due to its numerous technical problems, awkward controls, and poor graphics. For devoted fans, this is less of an improvement and more of an insult. It’s difficult to suggest this game as is, even though I’d love to see it patched and enhanced. For the time being, if you’re as devoted to Hitman as I am, you might want to stick with the flatscreen versions.
Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded is a very ambitious game to try and create a VR version of especially on mobile hardware. That being said, it would have been better to make a ground up VR game for Hitman instead of trying to do a very limited and unpolished VR port of one of the best entries in the series. From the 2D cutscenes and the horrible in game visuals, to the limited VR implementation I have to say this is by far the worst way to experience this fantastic video game.
Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded is, unfortunately, an unmitigated disappointment. The entertaining level design and well-executed mechanics carried over from the 2D original clash head-on with the exceptionally poor technical execution. The controls won’t make you feel like a professional assassin, but rather like one of the characters from *Pat and Mat*. And the graphics will likely make you feel sick after playing for a while. All we can do is hope that the developers will fix the game at some point in the future. Or at least that support for the PlayStation VR2 version—which IO Interactive is working on directly—will be successful.
