Spirit of the North 2 Reviews
Spirit of the North 2 is a gorgeous game filled with a level of freedom that feels refreshing in today's climate, with smart puzzles and a moving story.
If atmosphere is more important to you than gameplay, and the experience is more important to you than straightforward game mechanics, "Spirit of the North 2" could be just the thing for you. Fans of the predecessor can confidently buy this.

Spirit of the North 2 tried to innovate, it tried to expand, it tried to "raise the bar", but what it didn't do was become a better, more attractive game. Despite having good puzzle ideas and implementing interesting battles, these pillars alone don't support a product that fails in practically everything it does. Its gigantic, empty map and the questionable quality of its elements make it clear that the game needed more polish, and unfortunately the developers didn't see it in time.

Spirit of the North 2 has some great concepts and mechanics, set in a varied Nordic world. There’s certainly a lot to enjoy, and I did have fun with my Fox buddy a fair bit. When it clicked, it was great, but the litany of technical issues and some tedious, faffy traversal keep it from reaching the Northern Heights!
Spirit of the North 2 is a nice sequel that retains the charm of the first game while skillfully expanding the gameplay. The new skills in conjunction with the raven are fun, the atmosphere and the magical visuals look beautiful and the game invites you to linger. Unfortunately, there are technical problems here and there and the aimless wandering to the next required item can be very annoying.
