Critic Reviews for Gunman Clive HD

Gunman Clive’s transition to the Wii U brings virtually the same two games that were previously released on the 3DS with almost nothing else to present other than a technically competent HD conversion and remarkable sound upgrade. Beyond that, there’s nothing else to point out: a simple compilation, that’s what Gunman Clive on the Wii U is all about.

The HD port to the Nintendo Switch certainly was a great idea to move, it would be great to see more Gunman Clive games in the future.

Gunman Clive HD Collection may lack new content, but the original 3DS games have survived the transition to Wii U admirably. Newcomers: don't miss out again.

Although in some regards a missed opportunity to celebrate the series with new content, Gunman Clive HD Collection is well worth its minuscule asking price, bringing together not only one, but two already classic-status titles from the portable world into one tasty -and delightfully gorgeous HD - package on Wii U eShop. It's one of the best 2D platformers currently on the market and a fantastic example of an indie hit.

Gunman Clive HD Collection includes both Gunman Clive games. The art style may put some players off, and the game is very short, but the level design is both challenging and fun, with some huge bosses thrown in for good measure.

"Two fun yet short games with a reasonable price tag."

Clocking in at just under 3 hours for a single play through, Gunman Clive HD Collection is a short yet charming experience on PS4. For the first game, the length isn’t so much a detriment because the game flows very quickly and is constantly fresh and fun. The remastered sequel is a far less enjoyable experience, doubling its length but containing some truly irritating or confusing sections.
