EXSTETRA Reviews
EXSTETRA (2026) has charm and potential, but it takes a patient sort to unlock it.
You’ve got to have a real love for the very deepest niches of JRPG fandom to enjoy Exstetra, but if that describes you, this is a treat. It’s such a product of its time that developers really don’t make these kinds of things any longer, and it has finally landed in English after 13 years. If you are the audience for it, don’t let yourself overlook Exstetra.
A difficult one to recommend without reservations. It’s not a bad game, but it’s certainly a mediocre title. This new edition makes it more readable and accessible while keeping it approachable for a modern audience. Those with a particular passion for JRPGs, lesser-known titles, experiments, and games that stray somewhat from the beaten path may find something appealing here.

The years on its shoulders are noticeable, especially in terms of visuals and animations, but EXSTETRA is quite an interesting JRPG, boasting remarkable character design and a peculiar kissing mechanic that manages to win you over.
