Battlezone 98 Redux Reviews
This is the kind of game where the people who are going to play it and love it already know they are going to play it and love it. If you have treasured memories of liberating Venus from the filthy capitalist pig-dogs in 1998, feel free to call me an asshole and just go and enjoy the game. If you missed it back in the day and are toying with giving it a try for the same reasons I did (soviets on the moon with flying tanks), you can probably take a pass and not miss anything.
It's a classic that's been lovingly brought back to life by Rebellion.
There is a ton of things to like about this game and especially this version of it. Everything returns intact and looks much cleaner and sharper than ever.
It’s fun and frantic, and has plenty of replayability. It just happens to sound poor and look dated.
The gameplay may lack the Quality of Life improvements possessed by modern games, but Battlezone ‘98 Redux is a faithful restoration of a true gaming classic. Improved visuals and Steam Workshop support are welcome additions, making it a blast from the past worth revisiting.
