Critic Reviews for Wasted

All in all, WASTED is a very strange and very fun experience. Its irreverent tone, action-first play style, and 1980s-infused over-the-top themes, there’s a ton to love.

You will die in Wasted. You will die a lot, it is a given. But thanks to its easy-to-learn, enjoyable gameplay, great use of roguelike elements and perfectly implemented Thunderdome-esque 1980s atmosphere, you will easily find yourself coming back again and again, ready to cough up more extra lives like the the arcade games of its era.

A clever take on two worn genres, Wasted is a funny and addictive genre hybrid that has scores of content at a low price point.

If you can handle the crude and immature humor, and you’d like something a little more lighthearted, you could definitely do much worse.

WASTED: A Post Apocalyptic Pub Crawler isn’t a game I would recommend to everyone, it’s heavy on the roguelike design and this would put off many, even if you are a massive FPS fan. The frustrating side of a roguelike is that death can come from any corner. What makes WASTED worthwhile is the visual style, gameplay, and humour. It makes for an excellent time waster, and at £9.99 it isn’t badly priced either.

WASTED is an Adult Swim published game, looks like Borderlands, and tries to act like it too.

WASTED is a roguelike, but is definitely one of the better ones out there. Its loot system and randomly generated levels leave a lot to be desired, but this is the creation of one-man who has generated a lot of entertaining places to visit, people to talk to, items to craft, and loot to find. It’s also difficult, wanting to kill the player every opportunity it has. WASTED has a misanthropic charm I can get behind.
