You do not have to be a fan of yuri to dig Highway Blossoms.
Highway Blossoms may not bring anything new to the table through its story, but it gets you emotionally involved through the cute, and relatable characters.
It's rare a game touches me in the way that Highway Blossoms has.
The Visual Novel Highway Blossoms: Gold Rush Edition begins promisingly with a mysterious treasure in America. However, the treasure hunt unfolds very smoothly, and the characters are portrayed in an excessively exaggerated manner. Through various decisions, they lose credibility—ultimately because problems within Amber and Marina's relationship are never truly resolved. The DLC turned out somewhat better, albeit thanks to the supporting cast. The story contains entertaining moments but also very clear weaknesses, which is why I can only offer a limited recommendation.

The charm of Highway Blossoms is in the characters and the way the dynamics between them develop. More than a great narrative, the search for gold is just a trigger to bring characters together and tell a story that is both mundane and emotionally captivating. For those interested in seeing two women of apparently antagonistic personalities getting to know each other better and becoming a couple, this game is an interesting option.
