Super Daryl Deluxe Reviews
Super Daryl Deluxe offers up a humorous story backed by its great amount of customization and exploration. One of my favorite things about the game was that you never knew what twist or turn it was going to take.
This could have been a truly great game if it was more closely designed and didn't offer as much filler. I can understand that the developers were going for something ambitious here but it unfortunately has resulted in a flawed product that still shows plenty of potential.
Super Daryl Deluxe is a really funny game that features outstanding visual presentation and unique and creative areas to traverse. Unfortunately it falls short in the gameplay department, with repetitive and boring combat. Still, the game is worth a shot if you like mysteries, comedy, and want something completely strange on your Switch.
Super Daryl Deluxe isn't that bad a game. You'll face the classic trope of the RPG difficulty spike in each new area and maybe a menu bug along the way but for the RPG fans among you it has plenty for you to do and see that you'll spending a fair amount with Daryl and a host of familiar faces.
Super Daryl Deluxe is a strange game, made by many styles: it has charisma, but it falls in some points.

Super Daryl Deluxe is a fun, humorous ride that goes all-in on its strange vision. Unfortunately, nondescript quests, unclear objectives, and uneven balance prevent it from becoming anything more
There are videogames that have issues and are held back from greatness by a series of missteps. Super Daryl Deluxe is a special case, because its wounds are self-inflicted. There were clearly a number of other directions this game could have gone in, but the ridiculous path it chose is probably what makes it so intriguing. The blatant repetition, the largely pointless narrative, the unlikeable cast; if even one of these elements were out of place, then the adventure would probably fall apart. Frankly, this is a baffling conclusion to arrive at, but few titles are designed to own up to their bad qualities. This one knows it has poor ideas, and runs with them anyway. It's actually kind of admirable, but still really hard to recommend on a whim.
Dan & Gary Games has given the Metroidvania-RPG genre a fair crack of the whip with Super Daryl Deluxe, but its needless amount of monotonous side quests and its floaty, button-mashing combat negates the occasional humorous highlights. There is a good game in here somewhere, but plenty of fat trimming is in order before you can get to it.
Super Daryl Deluxe succeeds on a multitude of levels and in many ways, could change how many indies approach RPG passion projects in the future.
Super Daryl Deluxe is one of the more unique titles available today. It takes familiar a 2D platformer and mashes it with an Action RPG while adding a dash of Metroidvania for good measure. Add to that the seriously impressive animation and art style and the game is well on its way to being a cult hit.
