Heroki is a bright and calming adventure game that can provide a simple level of entertainment for players of all skill levels and abilities, but never quite pushes itself far enough to be the experience it could have been. It ticks all of the boxes and gets the job done, with easy-to-understand controls, addictive collectable-grabbing gameplay - and even a nice little side quest area - but never breaks out of those metaphorical boxes to give us something that can truly amaze. A nice little game on the whole, then, just a little on the simple side.

Heroki is a fun and entertaining 2D platformer that may not bring anything groundbreaking but is good at what it does. Thanks to its simple and accessible controllers, competent level design and a heap of collectible items to obtain, Hiroki provides a simple but not any less enjoyable platforming experience in the Nintendo Switch catalog.

Overall, Heroki is a very polished, solid game. For only $9.99, there's a decent amount of content and beautiful visuals. The game's art style reminded me a lot of the Lost Winds games from the Nintendo WiiWare days. Heroki has a lot of things going for it, but the lack of diverse levels really drag down the experience.

Heroki is a light breeze perfect for between naps on a long summer road trip, just don't expect to remember it when something else blows by.

Heroki is a serene platformer where you take your time and discover every secret at your own pace without much danger involved, making it a relaxing experience. It has pacing issues in that it takes a long time before you get to do anything different, but if you're fine with that, play Heroki between some of the more hectic titles out there.
