RGX Showdown is a valiant effort in doing something unique with arcade racing, but the results are hit and miss. The frenetic, head to head races will provide some thrilling chases, and the drip feed of rewards for successive victories can be addictive, but it lacks polish. The presentation is rough around the edges and it feels pretty bare-bones, but there is the seed of a good idea here.
With it's high-octane pace, RGX Showdown is an incredibly promising blueprint for a low-priced arcade racer, but with the untimely demise of its publisher, Telltale, it's hard to tell if the developers, Shortround Games will be able to make a sequel or expand on the premise of the game.
Low-priced arcade racer with poor content and eventless gameplay.

RGX Showdown is a racing game that comes from the creative minds of great developers of yesteryear racing games. However, this game feels like it is only in Early Access at this point. That being said, it means that ShortRound Games can make this into a really fun game by just adding a few options such as co-op against friends, as well as a single player vs AI option. The game has great potential, however, the missteps it has begins to drag the game down.
An environment for nail-biting finishes, but its overly forgiving gameplay can make even the closest of races feel unfair.
