It’s such a warm game. Touching and heartfelt, masterfully capturing the cosy excitement of the places and stories we explore as children.

I have nothing but good things to say about Knights and Bikes, it has a great story, great presentation and it is fun to boot. It has a beautiful art style, great music and will keep you entertained throughout its short but very sweet campaign. If you like simple but entertaining games, you will love it, as I did.

Knights and Bikes captures the heart of childhood imagination. It's a largely carefree experience with limited mechanical substance, but that's part of the reason it works. It's a great family-friendly co-op game and balances its silly sense of humour and childlike joy with some of the melancholic reality of growing up.

Knights and Bikes is a brave and different exercise. It offers a somewhat simple gameplay, but makes up for it with an enviable setting and a very emotional story. As if this wasn't enough, it is also one of the most beautiful games you will see this year, with a stop-motion technique that I am sure will dazzle more than one.

The simplicity of Knights and Bikes lies within its need to revisit your childhood and remind you how much fun life can be, even when the storms are intense. It brings a great narrative to the table, throws some fun puzzles in the mix while delivering beautifully playful visuals that request you go on an adventure with a good friend. The game's intentions of stupid fun might outweigh its execution, but it succeeds in capturing the imagination and delivering a fun experience that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Although it’s best played in co-op mode, there’s a fair amount of fun to be had in playing alone too. Throw in the fact that Knights and Bikes features clearly defined mechanics along with some powerful instances and you’ve got yourself quite the charming indie experience.

Knights and Bikes isn't perfect, but it makes up for its hiccups with charming visuals, two adorable protagonists and a moving story that reminds us of some of our deepest, strongest fears and insecurities as kids. At the same time, it also reminds us of a time when we were filled with youthful optimism and were positively certain that we would make a difference in the world around us, no matter how tough things get. After putting in time in the game, one thought comes to mind. I wanna ride my bike.

If you find yourself in that potential situation, relish it like you would the end of summer before school starts again. If single-player is the only way you'll be able to play Knights and Bikes, maybe take heed; solo play is less enjoyable experience even if the overall charm and presentation is wowing. This is a fun video game, but it's optimally meant for two-player adventures.

Knights and Bikes tells the tale of Demelza and Nessa as they uncover a story, battle a curse, and deal with the almost inevitable closure of Demelza's fathers business. Luckily for adventure game fans, there is a lot to love in this charming game that pays a substantial homage to some of the best coming of age adventure films of the 80s. Knights and Bikes delivers on an extraordinary experience that is hard to find these days.

It’s clear that there was a strong, central vision for what Knights and Bikes should be, as it shines through in the writing, the artwork, and all of the extra little touches. This is a game about the pleasures and predicaments of childhood; it’s about family, friends, and connection; it’s about navigating a world as a person with goals, thoughts, and feelings that aren’t always taken seriously by the people around you. There’s a lot to discover about Knights and Bikes as you play, and the experience is one worth having firsthand. It’s a whimsical, joyful, sweet adventure that deals with some very heavy subject matter but manages to stay positive in the face of difficulty in the way that only a child really can.

Knights and Bikes is a fun, frantic, top-down adventure game with some light puzzle and combat elements that I imagine would be more appreciated by either a younger crowd or a parent playing with their kid. If you're looking for a solid co-op adventure, this can easily fill the void. Even solo it's still fun enough to be worth a look. Just be ready for a few awkward moments, and a seriously terrible UI.

Knights and Bikes is one of the few games that you really want to play, but after 20 minutes you realize that it's all beautiful, cute, but boring. So you nod your head sadly, save your progress, and go to the main menu to come back in a couple of weeks and try again. And after a year or two, you can put a check mark that the game is over, when it suddenly becomes a cultural phenomenon. Or not.
