Heaven Dust Reviews
Heaven Dust is a retro survival horror game.
Heaven Dust isn't an awful game, but it has some awful parts. Uninspired gameplay and a lack of originality aren't enough to make the game worth a recommendation. However, there's just enough love put into that, perhaps, old-school Resident Evil fans could have a good time.
Progressing through Heaven Dust's zombie-filled world is highly enjoyable thanks to its rewarding puzzles and sense of exploration.
I'll admit, I haven't to this point seen a sort of zombie survival adventure title on Switch so it's nice to have Heaven Dust filling in that block on my indie Bingo card...
It’s a brave move trying to stand out in the zombie market. With so many games and clichés, it’s easy to make a bland and mediocre title, but that definitely isn’t the case here. Heaven Dust is a brilliant game that epitomises everything that is great about the genre and I recommend you buy it here! Can you survive this viral outbreak and make it through the mansion? Search for clues, find items and kill zombies while solving every puzzle you encounter.
Short but sweet, just that introductory screen already screams Resident Evil, and the rest of the game plays up to that. You’re running around a mansion, killing/avoiding zombies and solving puzzles in an attempt to get out. As you traverse the mansion you’ll find notes and diary entries that help flesh out the background, which is always a nice touch, but it didn’t quite go deep enough. Unfortunately, nothing really made me empathise with or connect to the main character which for me is a big thing in any game. It feels like Heaven Dust has tried so hard to emulate Resident Evil that it’s stunted it’s own potential;
