After League of Legends, Riot Games has seemingly succeeded to create a competitive tactic FPS game with a real identity. The game lies on solid grounds at the state of its launch, which broke a record on Twitch. The question is to know whether the players will keep playing the game long-term with new content, and how the success will translate in esports.

Valorant's an excellent shooter with a lot of depth brought down by an intrusive anti-cheat program, limited game modes and characters, and mediocre art design.

Valorant is a fun and exciting tactical shooter but for the time being, it feels incomplete; and though it has some great moments and it can easily keep you playing past your first few matches, the overall presentation of the game is less compelling compared to other hero shooters.

Valorant takes the best elements from the kings of multiplayer shooters only to be something that fails to stand out it in a crowded market. It’s not a bad game but there are so many better free to play multiplayer shooters.

Valorant may still be more promise than reality in some ways, but what already exists is strong enough to bring in players and keep them there while Riot refines the experience. Valorant, as of this writing, is at a fantastic starting point, and there’s every reason to believe it’s only going to get better from here.

Valorant’s gunplay feels just as weighty and precise as CS:GO’s, with a structure that hits all the same highs and lows. Abilities sometimes let you outsmart people rather than simply outshoot them, and I’m excited about playing in a squad of friendly and coordinated pals. If and when they fall away, though, I expect I will too.
