Critic Reviews for So Many Me
So Many Me is an outstanding puzzle-platformer that fans of the genre should pick up. It makes brilliant use of the doppleganger mechanic allowing you to both solve puzzles and beat the crap out of enemies at will.
So Many Me is adorable. It's clever. And it's punishing. If you are looking for a fun puzzle platformer that's easy on the eyes, I highly recommend So Many Me.
In the end, So Many Me is a puzzle platformer that works on so many levels. It has a charming cast of characters that are bolstered by a beautiful presentation and some funny dialogue. The range of puzzles rides a fine balance between elementary and impossible, and the wide variety of goals ensures that players of all skill levels can complete this title. As long as you accept the fact that failure will come often, you'll enjoy this great puzzle platformer.
'So Many Me' is a lovely addition to the growing stable of adept platformers on the Xbox One. It competently serves up many of the tropes of the genre while gently poking fun at them, and has its own crafty mechanics to keep things fresh. It's not overly difficult, but the puzzles grow more challenging as the game progresses. I'm glad it was able to get over its financial troubles and find a home on the One.
So Many Me is a cute, colorful game that will leave you smiling one minute, then gritting your teeth the next. It's a nice addition to the puzzle-platformer genre but more polished mechanics would go a long way in making it less frustrating in certain areas.
Overall if cute puzzles are your thing I'd recommend this game highly. The story really isn't anything to write home about, but it's got a few laughs here and there. But I mainly enjoy the unique puzzle solving myself! Just be warned if you get frustrated easily you may swear at the screen a couple times, but that's a given with any puzzle game. Also bare in mind there seems to be no sign of multiplayer at the moment. I've clocked 9 hours so far on So Many Me, and I don't intend to stop playing any time soon!
Don't be fooled by the simple art style, because So Many Me is a title which will contend for one of the best indie platformers this year.
So Many Me is the very best kind of 'clone.' Accessible and innovative mechanics, coupled with a lovably cheeky personality and satisfying puzzles, give you so many reasons to get involved if you enjoy the genre.
