Astro Bot
Platformers aren’t exactly my favorite genre, but that hasn’t stopped me from trying at least one new one nearly every year. And without a doubt, Astro Bot makes it onto my must-play list, right up there with Mario or, in my case, Rayman Legends.

Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted
Pure nostalgia. I really enjoyed replaying the entire original game, spending a bit of time on it each day. I’m not judging the AI controversy around the release positively or negatively — as a player, I didn’t notice anything. If I hadn’t read about it, I wouldn’t even have known.

The Plucky Squire
The squire looked much better in the trailers, and that ends up costing the game an extra point. The idea of mixing 2D and 3D works fine—it’s not the first or the last time we’ll see it—but it doesn’t really make the game shine in that area.
