Steam's payment woes appear to be continuing, as a user has discovered that PayPal no longer supports transactions made in the majority of world currencies on the storefront.

While purchasing something on Steam, Reddit user Jeeg123 was met with a blurb that stated that PayPal would no longer be available as a payment option for currencies that aren't Euro, Canadian Dollar, British Pound Sterling, Japanese Yen, Australian Dollar or United States Dollar.

"In early July 2025, PayPal notified Valve that their acquiring bank for payment transactions in certain currencies was immediately terminating the processing of any transactions related to Steam," the blurb reads. "This affects Steam purchases using PayPal in currencies other than [the aforementioned currencies]. We hope to offer PayPal as an option for these currencies in the future, but the timeline is uncertain. We are also evaluating adding additional payment methods on Steam for the customers affected by this."

This has been an ongoing issue for about a month, but this is the first official statement from Steam on the matter.
