A game that's as updated as frequently as Final Fantasy 14 is sure to accumulate some technical quirks as the years go on. The MMO has had quite a few famous and strange bugs over the years, but the game's newest one may take the cake.
Square Enix released an emergency hotfix for the bug this morning, writing, "In Sinus Ardorum, a player could get disconnected from the server if they put an item up for sale on the market and the asking price was set between 44,442 gil and 49,087 gil."
One has to wonder how listing an item in a specific marketplace, at a specific, very strange, price range, would cause a player to be forcibly disconnected from the server. The community is using the dreaded term "spaghetti code" to describe the strange, bug-inducing interactions present in Final Fantasy 14.
It's reminiscent of some of the game's most famous bugs, such as the "Dying Dragon" from a Nier Automata crossover raid that fooled everyone into thinking the whole thing was a clever easter egg.
