After my hands-on preview of The Dark Pictures Anthology: Directive 8020, I had the opportunity to sit down with the game's executive producer, Dan McDonald, for a chat about Directive 8020's new features and the future of the Dark Pictures series.
Both the preview and interview are forthcoming, but one thing that McDonald told me that was of particular interest is that Movie Night mode is receiving a very significant change in Directive 8020.
Movie Night is a mode where you can play through one of Supermassive's horror romps alongside friends, with each player selecting which characters to control throughout the story.
In-game, when there's a character switch, you're prompted to pass the controller to that player. It's my preferred method of play, because the experience becomes a shared one, where everyone gets to feel the scares and consequences.
Previously, this mode was only available for couch co-op players - until now. Movie Night will now be available to both online and local players, and even a combination of the two if someone wishes.
