It's another week, which means another major Triple-A release is upon us. Up next, Dying Light: The Beast and Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. It also means there's another opportunity for video game pirates and bad actors to make their presence known.
In this case, that presence has already made landfall, as Dying Light: The Beast has become the latest release to get cracked, or made downloadable for free, by pirates.
As first spotted on Reddit, the game had been cracked within minutes of its release, joining the likes of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, plus the PC ports of The Last of Us Part 2 and Marvel's Spider-Man 2 as games to become immediately available following their release.
That's because, unlike Borderlands 4, which notably has Denuvo, thus preventing the title from being cracked, The Beast has no such anti-piracy measures in place, giving pirates free rein to, well, pirate the game. The result was an immediate crack.
And unlike the crack of Hollow Knight: Silksong, which famously included pirates urging each other to not participate in piracy, that doesn't seem to be the case with the latest Dying Light release.
