Thanks to some dodgy localisation being fixed in the Switch version of Super Mario Galaxy 2, fans are only just realising that Lubba is actually a girl.
When Nintendo announced that it was finally going to be porting Super Mario Galaxy 2 over to the Nintendo Switch last month, the reactions were pretty mixed. While we're all happy to see the game escape its Wii exclusivity, the high price and seeming lack of changes (as well as outright looking worse in some cases) left a sour taste for some Mario fans.
As it turns out, though, Super Mario Galaxy 2 on Switch (as well as the original version) does actually come with a surprising amount of changes. Most of them are minor, like the new font and mouse controls, but there is at least one very interesting fix that's been made from the Wii version of Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Lubba's gender.
For some strange reason, Lubba's gender has always been a bit of a question mark. In the original English manual for Super Mario Galaxy 2, Lubba is referred to as a boy, which even carried over to Lubba's trophy in Smash Bros. for Wii U. In the...
