Stellar Blade is South Korean studio Shift Up's most popular premium title by some margin. It sold millions of copies on PlayStation, then hit Steam and did gangbusters over there. A sequel, then, was inevitable.
We know it's happening, with recent concept art for the second game revealing a set of ravaged, overgrown buildings based on Chongqing, China, but details beyond this have been limited. It seems, based on a new interview, that a proper look at the game is potentially imminent, but Shift Up's CEO has said they won't officially reveal things until it's "finished in a good shape."
Speaking to 4Gamer in Japan (and translated by TheGamer), Kim revealed that with video game development, it is "done slowly and carefully, there are always times when it looks like nothing is happening from the outside." This led him to discussions about the studio's unnamed next title.
"We are working very hard on production, and we want to show it to you when it's finished in a good shape. Rather than announcing it before it's finished in that shape, we want to let everyone know when it's ready," Kim said.
