Dune: Awakening Is Introducing A PvE-Only Deep Desert, As Just 20 Percent Of Players Engage With PvP

Last year, I wrote about how the Dune: Awakening community was already growing frustrated with PvP just one week after launch, as players were forced to brave the "gank squad" of ornithopters if they wanted to experience the endgame and what is inarguably the most iconic set piece of the entire series, the Deep Desert. The answer to this problem was simple: PvE-only servers, and finally, after ten months, that's a reality.

As reported by Eurogamer, developer Funcom announced in a new blog post that, as of patch 1.3.20.0, all PvP zones in Hagga Basin have been disabled, and there are now PvE-only Deep Desert instances readily available.

"Dune: Awakening offers a variety of playstyles. However, with over 80% of our lifetime players exclusively engaging with PvE content, the convergence of PvE and PvP, particularly in the Deep Desert, didn’t align with our objectives and remained a significant topic of discussion," the team explained.
