Star Citizen needs no introduction at this point, so I'll make this quick. Announced in 2012 with a crowdfunding campaign, it has gone on to raise almost $1 billion from its supporters, and most notably, not actually launch. It is playable in early access, with in-game transactions accounting for much of the money it's raised, but outside of its dedicated community, many have written off its chances of ever launching.
However, in an interview with This Week in Videogames, Star Citizen director Chris Roberts gave us something of an update on the release window for Star Citizen (in short: not any time soon), and something a little bit more concrete for the single-player component, Squadron 42.
