The first FromSoftware screen adaptation is hitting theaters this year, with Sekiro: No Defeat set to be released in Japan, but it looks like the rest of the world will have to find another way to watch it.

While the live-action Elden Ring movie and the animated Bloodborne film are still in the early stages of production, another FromSoftware project will beat them to the punch, hitting screens in 2026. Sekiro: No Defeat is an adaptation of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, arguably the easiest FromSoftware property to adapt, given that it has a set protagonist rather than one the player designs.

Sekiro: No Defeat was originally given a 2026 release window, and those in Japan have a more concrete date. According to Crunchyroll, Sekiro: No Defeat is coming to theaters on September 4, 2026, and will run for three weeks. However, those outside Japan won't be able to watch it in cinemas.
