Final Fantasy 11's Official Website Finally Looks Vaguely Modernized

We write about Final Fantasy 11 sometimes, which is an inherently interesting thing to say in 2026, 16 years after the game's attempted successor, Final Fantasy 14, first arrived. Even if you only count FF's second MMO as having "started" in 2013, with A Realm Reborn, that's... still wild.

Indeed, hardcore fans will not let FF11 slip into the night. In fact, popularity spikes are causing servers to get their access cut off to new characters. With this degree of longevity in mind—two dozen years and counting!—the hard-working team keeping Vana'diel alive have committed themselves to delivering a website that doesn't look like it's straight out of 2002. (Which it was.)

I'll be honest here. I'm not sure if this revamp qualifies as a modern design. Then again, modern website designs are often so loaded with fluff that perhaps we should be thankful. I can tell you with ease that this is still a major improvement. There's more information, a fairly sleek (if oversized?) vertical tab bar, a straightforward news ticker, and just enough illustration to flavor the pages without becoming overbearing.
