Wolverine outstrips any previouss game with the hero regarding graphics, cineastic production and narrative (altxxahrough more because of excellent characterizaton than the plot itself). But most of all playing Insomniac Games' action adventure is an absolute blast.

I'm having a blast with the skills and directional blocking. The time limit doesn't rush me, but the meaningful day-and-night-cycle enriches the quests. And when I think I know what to expect in the open world, The Blood of Dawnwalker uses it's nonlinear structure for great surprises.

That Zero Company is set in the barely touched era of the Clone Wars is a step towards the light side of the force. But even without this fan bonus, the tactical battles are engaging and deliver a decent challenge on the higher diffuculties.

Onimusha - Way of the Sword delivers great Action and boss battles, but stumbles over itself. The modernising, soulless way of the open world has dulled this warrior's blade.

While Amicia and Hugo de Rune got closer to my heart than Sophia, gameplaywise I liked the prequel even more. The versatile sword fights got oomph and as adventure fan the creative puzzles are right up my alley.

Well adjusted scarcity, solid combat and limited saving opportunities create intense Survival Horror. The qualities of The Sinking City 2 may not be on par with Resident Evil Requiem, but those who wish for less emphasis on action and love the Cthulhu-infused 1920s setting may like this game more than what Capcom is offering.

Corsair Cove is on of the most atmospheric City Builders I played in years. Especially the vertical constructions and the pirate twists on the formula are entertaining.

The combat in Beast of Reicarnation ist spectacular and shows ever more facets over time. It's such a joy I can look past most of it's shortcomings.

Halo - Campaign Evolved may not be revolutionary anymore and the age of the original shows, but the nice new look fits and the superb action gameplay is still a blast – especially in coop.

Splatoon Raiders got great shooter qualities. It''s a perfect game for turning my head off after a long day and just splat away. But I would be more happy, if I could raid a treasure island that got more moments that stick out besides cool boss fights and well made cutscenes that are few and far between.

Actions fans who don't know the original should undoubtedly set sail. But even if your are a veteran, buying Assassin's Creed - Black Flag Resynced is worth it for enjoying the game again in it's best looking version by far. I had lots of fun doing exactly that!

The slow pacing in the first third of 007 First Light wasn't my cup of tea. But when the game really gets going, it might just be the best video game adaption of the world famous spy ever.

I wanted to love the Remake the same way as I did the first to games of the series. In theory, everything is in place for that: Levels and alternative routes just as in the original, lightning fast action with strong setpieces. But while I enjoyed the looks and the quality of the new cutscenes at first glance, I wished just as much for some new levels or additions. And then there's the problem with the controls: how fast the crosshairs are snipping back to the center of the screen all the time.

The Adventures of Elliot - The Millennium Tales is a well made Zelda clone with charming presentation and superb controls. For my linkings the riddles could be more challenging and the fights less simplistic, especially regarding the bosses. But The Adventures of Elliot possesses a special quality that I care far more about than for spotless puzzle and combat design: it flows like a dream. I can get so lost in exploring these lands, filling the map and finishing dungeons that I lose my sense of time.

While for me EA's UFC series still hasn't reached to enormous heights of the bygone Undisputed games by THQ, the quality standard of UFC is high. It delivers a complex, very realistic sports simulation with top-notch presentation.

People who don't know the original might have a hard time finding into the game with the lack of handholding and tutorials. But the story and atmosphere are strong, the world vast and varied, the dub great and the music beyond any doubt. As fan of the original Gothic, I am so very pleased how Alkimia Interactive captured all these strenghts and even added new areas, NPCs and quests in a way like they've always been there. Some troublesome bugs are still there but the devs already seem to be on their way to squash them. As they say in Gothic: All will be well.

The gameplay of Motorslice is pure fun most of the time. Smooth movement like Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time meets flow moments like in Mirror's Edge. And dare I say: No other game interpreted boss fights like in Shadows of the Colossus in it's own way quite so good as Motorslice does! Likewise the mechanical imitations of living spaces the slicer P fights her way through are just wonderful in the way they're not meant for humans. And if I look down after a long ascension and spot the level geometry of the place where I started 30 minutes prior, the sense of space of the interconnected world is astonishing.

Only seven playable characters, a lack of mini kits and skins posing as rewards instead of real gameplay advantages? Compared to earlier Lego outings from TT Games this feels like a downgrade to me. On top of that the activities tend to be to samey while also happening always in the same setting as opposed world hopping former Lego adventures. Still: Lego Batman - Legacy of the Dark Knight has ignited my collectathon fever once more, the animations are endearing and the dark atmosphere in Gotham City's eternal nighttime is crafted so well it is striking.

In the first half there is too little going on with the flat characters. Even with it's heartpounding finale, the more intense second half can only do so much to remedy the experience as a whole.

Saros would already be a great game as a traditional shooter, or a simple roguelite or bullet-hell-game. Combining it all together makes Saros a must have for everyone, who doesn't shy away from challenging, lightning fast action.
