Though it may lack some of the heftier features of previous titles with no long-form Classic or Adventure Modes, Super Smash Bros. for 3DS instead opts for truly-refined and lean gameplay that not only works well for the portable platform on 3DS, but proves to bring some exciting new additions like Smash Run just as engaging and fun as the regular bouts of brawling in the ring. As a love letter to Nintendo fans, Super Smash Bros. for 3DS brings together the best of gaming into one of the best 3DS games available, and although the portable title may be a warm-up for this holiday's Wii U version, it will be hard not jumping back in for a few more practice rounds on the 3DS.
FIFA 15 managed to bounce back from last year's lackluster performance with subtle changes in the right places. Playing the game brought back the exciting, tense and rewarding experience of scoring a goal again. We're are looking at a step in the right direction towards the next-gen soccer game fans deserve.
It's very rare you find a game this self-aware about how ludicrous the situations you're in are. D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die is definitely a case you'd want to solve.
Fans might be a bit upset with lack of of game modes and mini-games that usually get packed into a Dance Central title but this price I think they'll be able to appreciate the trade-off. It's definitely worth picking up if you want something fun to do with your Kinect besides telling it to go to Netflix.
Overall, Curtain Call is an amazing title that satisfies both aficionados of the rhythm genre and Final Fantasy series' soundtrack. With its great music rhythm-action styled gameplay combined with the amazing selection of songs, it takes players through a truly musical experience. In addition to the great selection of songs, the amount of content featured from the series, including the amount of present characters is satisfying as well. I would recommend this game to fans of the Final Fantasy series and rhythm action games combined.
Destiny may not be a masterpiece, but it beats quite a few masterpieces where it really matters.
Two worlds collide in Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and they collide quite well. Great pains have been taken to ensure that the combination works as a cohesive unit, and for the most part it succeeds (with some minor hiccups along the way). There’s more than enough content for old fans of either franchise and new players will find this game as a more than welcoming entry point to both games. Those that enter the world of Labrynthia will thoroughly enjoy their foray — just mind the witch trials.
The Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate expansion is definitely one of the series' best installments, as it has so much content to keep Musou aficionados satisfied. While the game is great, and it does a very good job at giving the genre a good name, I wouldn't recommend it to fans outside of it; however it's a good entry point that new players can jump into.
If you picked up Madden last year, there is arguably just enough new content and gameplay to merit the upgrade.
As players have been at Clementine's side since the first season, this episode is proof that things for Clementine and the group may be dire, but there's always the chance of a new beginning.
Risen 3: Titan Lords will still manage to hold your attention. Where this game excels in is its overwhelming sense of freedom and control you have over your pirate and your journey. If you're big on pirates and don't mind some boring broken combat, consider taking a 30+ hour voodoo-inspired romp through an intriguing open world. However, the uneven difficulty, exploitative combat mechanics and uninspired story will turn off most people who aren't hardcore RPG fans.
What Firefall brings to the table is a gorgeous and unique sci-fi MMO that's unfortunately dragged down by rote mission design and dreadful combat. The silver lining is that MMOs (especially free to play ones) are an ever changing and evolving product — what you play at launch will be completely different from what is played a year from now, thanks to updates. Here's hoping it eventually becomes that game.
Despite a few hiccups here and there, Deconstructeam has weaved together a solid title that will resonate with players long after the experience is over. As long as you're willing to put in the substantial effort, of course.
Overall Wooden Sen'SeY is so boring that it is almost painful. I can't really recommend this game to anyone sadly but if you're crazy for platformers then wait for a price drop.
It's an excellent re-imagining of an old classic that will surely please both veterans and curious newcomers alike. Even if Abe was the reluctant hero of Oddworld, New 'N' Tasty! is giving him the attention he deserves.
Aside from some slight tonal inconsistencies and story deviations, "Amid the Ruins" does still maintain the great quality of The Walking Dead with a number of tense scenes and overall building toward the final outcomes of the season. With some action setpieces that put the group into peril in the face of looming threats like the imminent snow, and leading up to a conclusion with an enormous and devastating cliffhanger, it still manages to put many pieces into play, despite some noticeable shortcomings in terms of its character development.
Crimsonland isn't a game that's out to change the world — it's a simple shooter that gets the job done and does it well. With the exception of there being no online co-op, I don't have any major complaints about this game. If you're into super violent twin stick shooters then this is a game you should try out.
Overall this game is a must have for fans of the series and newcomers will enjoy how easy it is to jump in and play. I would advise newcomers to keep up with the anime in order to get the full experience but since the game has an original story, it isn't much of a requirement. Aside from the Coliseum Mode, this has to be one of the greatest One Piece games I've played yet.
Though it's still too early to tell just yet on the prospects of what we can expect for Season Two of The Wolf Among Us, the concluding episode of the first season brings out the absolute best that the series has had to offer across five episodes, and thankfully shows that the case for The Wolf Among Us hasn't been closed just yet.
Sniper Elite 3 does provide a unique experience and it really puts forth a lot of effort in making you feel like a expert marksman. Sadly the other aspects of the game doesn't seem to have been given the same amount of care.
