4 / 10.0 - Agents of Mayhem
Aug 24, 2017

Agents of Mayhem fails as caretaker of the Saints Row dildo-torch, with passable gameplay and characters the only vague upsides in its a repetitive, bug-ridden sandbox.

Berserk and the Band of the Hawk is a dire title, a rare miss from the usually serviceable Omega Force.

4 / 10.0 - Dungeon Punks
Sep 6, 2016

What few good points Dungeon Punks has are ultimately overshadowed by some atrocious design choices. Golden Axe was a bit before my time, but if this is what that game was like, then it does not seem like something we need to resurrect.

4 / 10.0 - MilitAnt
Jul 25, 2016

Many elements of MilitAnt's core design are flawed, so it's no surprise that the game as a whole is pretty dire.

4 / 10.0 - The Technomancer
Jul 8, 2016

I honestly believe that the team at Spiders wanted to deliver the very best game that they are capable of producing and sadly I think that is exactly what they have done. The Technomancer is not a bad game, but it is devastatingly mediocre.

MXGP 2 is a great example of how to take promising ideas, and then squander them all with terrible execution. There’s a decent motocross game in here somewhere, but it’s buried by technical issues like a fallen rider under mud.

4 / 10.0 - Armikrog
Oct 7, 2015

Armikrog is a game that has had obvious care and exacting attention given to its visual design and animation… at the expense of almost everything else. A bland and woefully short game with asinine puzzles and an unresponsive interface, it's beautiful but that's about it.

A great-looking game let down by poor storytelling, repetitive gameplay and cheap, frustrating puzzles and traps.

4.5 / 10.0 - Bombshell
Feb 1, 2016

Bombshell is a broken, boring action game with a tin ear for humour and action that rarely rises above tedium.

Rodea the Sky Soldier has the odd interesting idea, but numerous gameplay problems betray its troubled development.

War Chest is an incredible disappointment given the strength of the series to this point, and the exciting licences within.

Bland visuals, rehashed game play, and constant bugs and minor irritations completely overshadow the core Heroes experience. These criticisms, along with the game's complete lack of new ideas, makes it the weakest entry in the long running series. Might & Magic: Heroes VII is best avoided and forgotten.

4.5 / 10.0 - 1954: Alcatraz
Mar 12, 2014

1954 Alcatraz fails to deliver. There is a lot to like, the narrative and setting are exceptional, but the constant shortcomings of almost every other aspect of the game quickly saps enjoyment and replaces it with frustration and disappointment.

4.5 / 10.0 - Ryse: Son of Rome
Nov 22, 2013

Ryse definitely looks the part, but the gameplay simply isn't up to scratch. It feels unfinished, or like a hardcore title whose mechanics have been dramatically simplified for the Xbox One TV crowd. Thumb down.

4.5 / 10.0 - Knack
Nov 28, 2013

Knack is not at all indicative of the PlayStation 4's potential. The gameplay and the storytelling are banal even by last-gen standards.

4.5 / 10.0 - Bound by Flame
May 14, 2014

Admire Spiders for their ambition, but as with its prior efforts this is again a case of reaching too far and spreading too thin. The result is a game that feels incomplete despite its comparatively short length for the genre.

One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows falls terribly short in almost every aspect. While the premise works well in the world of Anime, it does not translate well to the format of Gaming. A combination of lackluster gameplay, woeful voice-acting and a story as bland as they come, even die-hard fans of the series would be doing themselves a favour in avoiding this one at all costs.

Complex mechanics wrapped in a overly-childish shell leaves the latest entry in the Pokemon series feeling like a missed opportunity with no clear target audience. From it's dire gameplay, to its tedious mechanics and terrible story, there's little to love here. This unfortunately is one you definitely do not want to catch...

Jet Kave Adventure looks good but feels uninspired and altogether too easy for the type of game it is. Considering the strong competition on the Switch, it's hard to recommend this one to any but the most die-hard platformer fans or the younger gamers out there looking to dip their toes in the genre.

5 / 10.0 - Observation
May 27, 2019

Observation is undeniably beautiful, but it is also vapid and shallow. An interesting premise is let down by simple puzzles and awkward controls. While the game does have some interesting ideas, the execution fails to stick the landing.
