5.5 / 10.0 - Session: Skate Sim
Oct 9, 2022

I adored the concept but was entirely underwhelmed by the reality. Session Skate Sim is enjoyable, but only if that's what you're into. It's clever but only if you're appreciative of its exacting existence. And Ultimately it is rewarding strictly to yourself, with no scoring system or a competitive edge to set it against your friends or even existing skating IP's.

7 / 10.0 - Soulstice
Oct 3, 2022

Soulstice does a good job entering the genre from a AA studio but there is some polish that is needed to make it stand out. Regardless, DMC, Bayonetta, or Nier fans can expect a fun time.

6.5 / 10.0 - Sunday Gold

While Sunday Gold stands out with its novel mix of gameplay and stylish presentation, it wears down its novelty by the overuse of the mechanics that makes it stand out in the first place.

6.3 / 10.0 - Steelrising
Sep 12, 2022

I thought this game was okay, but this is not my favourite genre to play. I appreciate the story-telling and dealt with the increasingly harsh combat, but the pacing is slow, the graphics are rough and the overall feel of the game is sluggish and laboured in my opinion. If it had been an open-world style adventure with stealth elements and more freedom of movement, I feel that this title could have flourished and appealed to more fans the world over, however, the decision to be a souls clone may be SteelRising's downfall.

6.9 / 10.0 - Thymesia
Aug 27, 2022

All in all, Thymesia comes together to form an interesting combination of Sekiro and Bloodborne. You have the limited weapons, parry mechanics, and talent trees of Sekiro, and the movement speed, setting, and general gameplay feel of Bloodborne. Despite being only 6 hours long, I feel as if the $25 price-point makes Thymesia worth at least one playthrough if you’re itching for a new Bloodborne-like.
