Calling Freedom Planet a Sonic clone would be unfair. It has unique mechanics, huge levels, and a larger focus on combat. Sometimes I found myself missing the blistering speed of classic Sonic titles, but I deeply appreciate and respect that Freedom Planet has its own identity. I'm looking forward to any improvements the sequel can bring. For only $15, it's worth checking out.
Iconoclasts has a genuinely interesting story, told in a way which is too obtuse to come across well. It also leaves quite a lot on the table without properly explaining things. Its characters are charming, lovable, believable, detestable, and sympathetic all at once, and watching them go through the events of the story can be captivating. Unfortunately, it takes Iconoclasts about halfway through before it begins to even feel like a game, and while the gameplay progresses a bit more from there, it still never reaches the heights I think it could have. At just 11 hours for the main campaign, it's something I would definitely recommend to anybody looking for something to dig into without much time commitment. Also recommended, start the game on hard mode; normal leaves things much too plain. I definitely believe that if the game's creator, Joakim Sandberg, ever places himself in the directorial and lead writer positions of a small development team, all of the depth that the gameplay and exploration elements were sorely lacking could reach their full potential and then some, creating something absolutely great.
A nice relaxed, and horribly inaccurate, management sim. Live your dream of becoming the owner of your very own graveyard! Really fun and addictive game. I was blown away by the sheer amount of stuff to do. As someone who doesn't typically enjoy this genre, this game managed to keep me addicted well into the night. If you enjoy talking donkeys and morally questionable decisions, this is the game for you.
Okami HD is a great way to experience this timeless title. As my first encounter with the game, the Switch's unique touch controls went great lengths in crafting an immersive world and combat style. Pair this with a graphical style that not only looks incredible, but stands up to modern standards, and you have a surprisingly affordable adventure you won't be able to put down.
We Happy Few isn't a bad game on its own. If you can overlook some of its overused elements, you will find an original FPS with a gripping narrative, if you dedicate enough time.
MMXLC Vol.1 & 2 were most certainly fun to play and I'm glad that I got to review them as they introduced me to the series, but the collection has some inherent problems, not to mention that the asking price is simply way too high for what you get.

Salt and Sanctuary is an excellent love-letter to the Dark Souls franchise while still managing to provide a distinctly unique experience. As far as game design goes, this is a splendidly polished example of the Soulsborne mechanics appropriated correctly, and I eagerly anticipate playing all the way through NG+7 and beyond, just not on the Switch. Unfortunately, the dark screen and glaring performance issues in this port detract from the overall experience, docking points. On steam, however, I'd likely give this an 8 or a 9.
Octopath Traveler fills a gap in the Switch's ever-growing market, putting forward a full and refined traditional JRPG experience in a way that will appeal to both experienced and new fans alike. Presenting a unique and visually enticing graphical style, alongside eight storylines and a plethora of bonus content, it is a game I unreservedly recommend for Nintendo Switch owners.
A great idea for a game, has an interesting look, and is reasonably fun to play. The potential for it to be better is felt constantly, and you can't help but feel disappointed that many things you hope to see don't ever happen.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a game I never thought I'd see on the 3DS, and I could never have imagined it being ported so smoothly. With no compromise to the gameplay experience, this is Captain Toad. On the 3DS. If you want wonderful puzzles, colourful and diverse environments, replayability, and challenge. If you're ready for an adventure I would call timeless, you are ready for Captain Toad.
If you're a fan of Adventure Time, you'll probably enjoy this game. The writing is great, and the world is beautiful. With the series ending this year, it's a great bit of content to pad out the waiting time. If you're not a fan of Adventure Time, though, I wouldn't recommend it to you. Most of my enjoyment came from the references and writing, rather than the gameplay. The gameplay isn't bad, but the atmosphere of the game couldn't be better.
A fun puzzle to have on the go, to pick up and play a couple of levels while waiting on the bus. Just like physical cube puzzles, have a fun time challenging yourself, but don't expect a story to keep you invested. Recommended for puzzle fans!
All-Star Fruit Racing is an interesting racer that, unfortunately, received a bad port on Switch. It could have been good, but the sacrifices made for the Switch version completely ruined the gameplay experience for me. If you're going to buy All-Star Fruit Racing, avoid the Switch version at all costs.
I feel Mario Tennis Aces is a leap in the right direction for Camelot. With incredibly fun additions to the series, as well as a natural means of learning and reinforcing their use, you have an intense online experience with the training needed for you to be comfortable playing against others. If you can get past the short adventure mode and enjoy playing with people around the world, you will find yourself here a wonderfully refined tennis experience that pulls out all the stops to feel fluid and look divine.
Overall, Paranautical Activity is a flawed experience. That said, it's still a great deal of fun, and acts as a great timekiller. If you're looking for a cheap game on Switch, there are better options, but Paranautical Activity certainly isn't the worst.
A light and fresh title that's a good enough reason for you to dust off your PS Vita and tackle it at your ease.
Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido is an unexpected beauty held back by preconceptions and what is easy to consider an unreasonable price tag. The variety of difficulty paired with a well-polished gameplay experience goes a long way in putting forward something worthwhile and memorable. Add to this a simplicity and recognisable core as well as an inviting design, and you have something to be enjoyed by anybody fortunate enough to pick it up.
Vampyr might not be to everyone's taste being heavily narrative-driven with its long dialogues, bland textures and repetitive combat sequences. But if you can overlook these little faults, you'll find a refreshing title worth savoring.
