3.8 / 5.0 - Potion Permit
Sep 24, 2022

Potion Permit may not be the best life simulation or harvesting game you would play, but experiencing it shouldn't be empty of pleasure. Since you play as a Chemist rather than a farmer, this change itself promises unique things that the game provides most of them. While the story itself is well-written and simple, the characterization could have been much better. Even though the gameplay gets to the required pace a little late, once it does it becomes addictive rather quickly. The art style and music of the game have created good chemistry with the overall tone of the game.

It may be more of the same, but Splatoon 3 is the most refined experience yet!

3.3 / 5.0 - Isonzo

Isonzo on the Xbox is like a reminder that you should never put tomato in a fruit salad. Play it on a PC if you play it at all.

Although not the worst movie tie-in-game, DC League of Super-Pets The Adventures of Krypto and Ace does have its moments that again is for that younger gamer. Nonetheless, a canine distraction of not-quite super-heroic proportions!

3.5 / 5.0 - LEGO Brawls
Sep 17, 2022

LEGO Brawls is simple fun that is best played together locally. Kids will enjoy the LEGO themed characters and environments (Ninjago, Monkie Kid, Jurassic World, Pirate, Western, Vidiyo, Hidden Side, Space, Castle, Alien Conquest) as they battle each other to victory via brick brawling!

4.3 / 5.0 - NBA 2K23
Sep 14, 2022

NBA2K23 is a product of many arguably long overdue, bold decisions, and they combine to produce the best 2K in seemingly forever. Yes, some outstanding quibbles persist, but massive upgrades to gameplay, AI, a legitimate emphasis on classic eras, and no contracts in MyTeam are all winners.

All in all, this game is off to a great start and hopefully Gameloft add voices to the dialogue as the game is quite text heavy and it would be great to hear Mickey, Buzz or Moana talk and sound like their related filmcounterparts. Even so, the text is clever and quite witty at times with a healthy dose of humour thrown into the mix.

4.4 / 5.0 - A Tale of Paper
Sep 8, 2022

A Tale of Paper: Refolded, is a beautifully illustrated game with a unique storyline. Although it is a little on the short side (game time wise), it is still really engaging, quirky, and not too difficult to solve. If you enjoy games like Limbo and Little Nightmares, then this game is definitely one for you to check out!

2.9 / 5.0 - City Eye
Sep 6, 2022

The premise of the game sounds great! However, the lack of attention to detail, the repetitiveness, and not having any big reward, lets it down. Hopefully this is a game that can evolve in the future because it is an interesting concept, but it isn't fully there just yet.

Overall Destroy all Humans 2 - Reprobed is a very beautiful game and the gameplay whilst repetitive is enjoyable. The 2006 humour does get grating and some of the jokes that as a teenager may have got chuckle does not hit the same way for someone who is now in their late 20’s. What really spoilt this game for me was the bugs and crashes that really stopped me from being able to fully engage and enjoy this title.

The Last of Us Part 1 on the PS5 was a joy to revisit and while not a new game, it feels familiar yet different and the highlight for me were the amazing visuals on this next-gen console, including the wonderful soundtrack and spectacular voice acting. This is a true interactive movie and both fans and newcomers will enjoy the story of Joel and Ellie as they explore this decimated world that is now brimming with even more emotion. Again, aming doesn't get any better than this!

Pac-Man World: Re-Pac is pretty much the same experience as it was in 1999, albeit with a minimal and barely noticeable facelift. But 1999 is not 2022…and this game didn't age well. Its simplified difficulty and presentation is best suited for kids, and – even then – is pretty generic in execution.

3.6 / 5.0 - Madden NFL 23
Aug 24, 2022

Combined, Madden 23 – especially with Free Form Passing – is certainly different from Madden 22, but not necessarily all that better. It still struggles in being accessible to most, with the bar for control schemes and required knowledge of American football far too high. On-screen help is still minimal, AI generated assistance limited, and fun factor almost non-existent.  It's obvious the Madden series made a sharp turn toward competitive gaming and Ultimate Team a few years back, with zero regrets.

3.1 / 5.0 - Saints Row
Aug 24, 2022

Overall, Saints Row consist of both good and bad parts, but the bad parts leave more of an impression on the player. It's also a shame that while there is some genuine fun to be had with the game, as some effort was clearly put in trying to imitate many aspects of the original series, it still doesn't live up to even the worst of what the series had to offer.

All in all, Midnight Fight Express is a nice adrenaline-fuelled ride that offers players simple but challenging gameplay, great backgrounds, and more. While it has a few gameplay issues and isn't too long to beat at about 8 hours, the game still provides a great experience beat 'em up fans will especially enjoy.

4 / 5.0 - Rollerdrome
Aug 19, 2022

Performance-wise, the game runs smoothly on PS5. The graphics are crisp, and I didn't encounter gameplay issues or frame rate dips. Overall, Rollerdrome is a well-rounded, incredibly fun, and immensely challenging but rewarding game. While the gameplay relies on being grindy and some of the narrative elements fall short, it still offers a highly enjoyable experience, especially for fans of action games.

As a person who played all the Spider-Man games since Sega Genesis' Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin, Insomniac's version of the New-York city's wall crawler is the best Spider-Man game ever released. The game holds up pretty well both in visuals and gameplay mechanics. Though there are some drawbacks and shortcomings, they are not game-breaking or in any way stop the players from enjoying the title. To make a long story short, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered is a diamond in the rough.
