Blade Strangers is a fun and charming 2D fighter that is readily open for any kind of player to enjoy. Whether you're a newcomer to the fighting genre or a hardened veteran that instinctually whiff punishes anything. Everyone can play this game and appreciate the obscurely, iconic roster of characters and stages that Nicalis and Studio Saizensen have given us.

We Happy Few is a game that promises to be one hell of a good story drive ride from start to finish, but what we got was something that is so full of bugs and crash issues that it completely ruin the experience. Frankly We Happy Few needed to spend more time in development than it does being played. When something like this starts on Kickstarter, sometimes it just need to stay there. We Happy Few’s story is a highlight and should be an animated film more than a less-then-playable video game.

Yakuza kiwami 2 shows exactly what happens when a good story meets good gameplay… Perfection. You’ll spend hours of your life playing the main game, then another half of your life just doing the exciting and awesome side missions and distraction events. Any game that makes taking a piss into an action filled experience deserves the highest of praise.

The gameplay is crisp, and even though its the only game in town, Madden NFL 19 doesn't rest on its laurels one bit.

Dead Cells is one of the harder games I’ve played in a while and that’s not a bad thing. Hand holding? Nope, you’ll find none of this here. One run might be the perfect run, where you spawn with the best weapon in the game and there’s not an enemy that can take you down. The next run, on the other hand, could end up being the run from hell. You spawn with the weakest weapon, you fail to find an upgrade on your way through the world and it seems like every enemy has your number. Well, that’s the point of the game. It’s not supposed to easy and while it may not be for everyone. Yet, for those who enjoy this sort of game type, you’ll be grinning from ear to ear.

You know the saying, that good things come to those who wait? Well, this wait for Chasm has definitely yielded an amazing fun title, that should appeal to even the more hardcore of Metroidvania games. Beautiful, lots of stuff to do and tons of items and secrets to uncover, makes Chasm the game that will keep you busy for a long time. In fact, we just might be playing it longer than it took for this gem to be released.

Code of Princess EX just doesn't seem to scratch that itch for the beat 'em up style that I grew up with. Despite the story being engaging and the characters being wonderfully colorful, the stale and disengaging gameplay just brings it down so far. This makes me sad because Code of Princess EX could have been a proper remaster instead of a port with enhanced graphics. Consider the boat fully missed.

Sonic Mania Plus is the best Sonic game of modern times, quite possibly the best Sonic game of all time. With all the right things in place with the original release, then adding two new characters and remixing levels to add a new level of challenge, Sonic Mania Plus is a must have game.

Octopath Traveler is a must-have game on the Nintendo Switch for both RPG fans and fans of great games. It's not a perfect RPG, but it's definitely one of the best ones of recent memory.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 brings back the nostalgia by giving you all eight Mega Man X games. As far as that aspect is concerned, the collection hits things on all cylinders and brings to you a great gaming experience. The abysmal attempt at extra content really makes this an average collection rather than something special. If you're going to buy this, it should be for the eight X games and not for the extra content even though the extra content is good enough to play through once.

Mothergunship is a special kind of game. It combines the right about of bullet hell shooting, tosses in some platforming and makes you laugh at the same time. Lots of things to blow up, lots of cool gun configurations, tons of secrets to find and a game that you won’t tire of so easily.

- 20XX
Jul 13, 2018

20XX is everything a Mega Man fan could want and more. The randomness of the game keeps every run fresh and there are enough game modes to keep you coming back over and over again. The only weakness is the lack of variety in the levels that it offers. Despite that flaw, it doesn't halt this game from being highly-addictive and insanely fun! Well worth the price tag!

Koihime Enbu RyoRaiRa is a solid fighter all things considered, but still a bit lacking in some departments. The art style and design of characters are a bit generic and uninspired. The stages feel just a bit empty. And the lack of modes is disappointing. Regardless of faults, the gameplay is fun and responsive. Fatal Counters add some zest to how the game plays. Characters bring their own spice and flavoring to the table. Plus, the music is nice and sets the tone for exciting matches.

Despite all of its glaring short comings, Mario Tennis Aces is close to something great. If the core gameplay was balanced, it would earn a 4/5 despite a lackluster single player campaign and terrible UI. Future updates could make the game great, but right now Aces is like a talented professional too lazy to put in the work needed to crack the Top 30.

In the end, if you've played Ikaruga on any other previous platform, then you've played what is available on the Switch. However, that's also the beauty of it all. Ikaruga is a timeless classic and a game that is worth picking up again and again. The main question is should you pick it up. With the obvious answer being, HELL YES. Casual gamers will welcome the challenge, while SHMUP masters will feel right at home. And now you can take it on the go!

Bus Simulator 18 has made a lot of strides to improve upon 2016's entry. The map is bigger, with room for more cities to be added, but performance needs a bit more work in terms of stability. Everything looks amazing, but without steady performance, it can stave quite a few people off. Nonetheless, simulation fans could consider Bus Simulator 18 an adequate simulation fix that doesn't ask too much past the initial purchase.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux does tend to drag a bit, but the story, characters, and gameplay are strong enough to keep you invested as you run around in circles. The omission of any English voiceovers is also troubling. However, if you're a dungeon crawler fan or a fan of the franchise, this is going to be your bread and butter.
