WWE 2K19 dials up everything from its previous releases and makes something worth spending money for a wrestling game that feels more refined and polished. Some issues still persist, but the number of ways to play and the re-introduction of the Showcase gives more than enough reasons to play and enjoy the world of wrestling entertainment.
Dakar 18 comes with all the official licenses, great track layouts and everything that you would align with the event, it's just let down by really poor vehicle handling.
With fun new multiplayer Kick Off modes available at any time, anywhere and with two controllers readily available this FIFA 19 edition may not be the premium version but it is definitely good enough if you do not have access to other platforms or do most of your gaming on the go.
Platformers have found a home on PSVR and Astro Bot Rescue Mission is going to drive that point home. Players who are after a traditional 3D platformer that is filled with secrets and impressive worlds to discover, should take the plunge and help this little Astro Bot that could.
As a multiplayer party boardgame, it shines and despite a few smaller niggling issues, it is another title to add to the growing list of great local multiplayer games now available on the platform. And due to its trademark Nintendo first-party polish and technical finesse, it may even be a contender for the stealing the top spot in the genre.
The beautiful game is brought to life in the virtual world yet again with this well presented and visually appealing football game. FIFA 19 is taking a step in the right direction after some time as the technically inferior football game as compared to its only rival. The Journey draws to a somewhat satisfying close, but Goalkeepers are still a blundering phenomenon. However, the gameplay improvements on the rest of the pitch, new editions, and the Champions League are much welcomed and long awaited.
Odyssey takes what Origins started and sharpens it to a fine edge. This is bigger, better, bolder and still has time to be intimate and grounded in the middle of a massive war and tale of intrigue.
Forza Horizon 4 takes what its predecessor did and somehow improves on it. If you're after a simulation you've come to the wrong place. All you'll find here is an endless supply of arcade racing entertainment.
Firewall: Zero Hour is the FPS game PSVR players have been waiting for. The only downside is that there is absolutely no campaign to enjoy - it's a multiplayer experience, exclusively. Play it with the aim controller and you'll find little else as entertaining in the PSVR shooter library.
Journey through a world that can only exist in your dreams. A dreamlike world seen through the eyes of two young children reminiscing about their time spent together. Their struggles, their joys, their adventures. This is The Gardens Between.
Embark on an Epic Quest to bring light to the shadows. And let the Echoes of your justice ring through an Elusive Age. For you are the Luminary, chosen by faith and destined to defeat the Lord of Shadows.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the final entry into the Origins Trilogy of Lara Croft with a compelling story and some of the best character seen in the series. It features some great stealth combat, excellent puzzles, and fun platforming. It is a worthy entry into the series and might be considered as the best one yet.
Basketball has seen many legends etch their name in the Hall of Fame since the very beginning and NBA 2K19 is a masterstroke in showcasing the games illustrious career by offering tight controls, stunning visuals and animations in between the best commentary and visual presentations in the sports game industry. It's unfortunately still hampered with the "pay to gain" mechanic that might put some people off, but the gameplay makes the grind worth it.
SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is a party game filled with fanservice and it has made peace with that. While there isn't much that's noteworthy about the game's presentation, its approach to accessibility is interesting and worth experiencing. It has managed to create its own unique experience that is worth exploring, even if it's not for everyone.
Salt and Sanctuary wears its obvious inspiration on its sleeve. It takes the magic ingredients from the Souls franchise and makes something of its own on a 2D plane. All of its individual aspects gel well to create an ultra-hard side-scrolling adventure through the dark and dreary. The Switch port is well done and makes it the perfect way to die horribly wherever it is convenient.
Rally games have come a long way, but it seems V-Rally is still stuck in an era where most of their audience wasn't even born yet. The level design is something to behold, pity that it bites the dust when it comes to car handling.
The Golf Club 2019 is a solid entry into a library of golf games. It's not the best golf game ever made, but the foundation has been laid for what might be a truly good franchise of licensed golf games.
Destiny 2: Forsaken rights a lot of the wrongs from the original game. It is the game that Destiny 2 should have been right from the start, and because of this, it becomes a lot easier to recommend again.
Planet Alpha takes you on a trip to an alien world that oozes with atmosphere and scale. The platforming and puzzles will keep you on your toes from beginning to end in an indie game that is as beautiful as most AAA titles.
Guacamelee 2 gets lost trying to be too edgy, too funny and referential, falling into the pitfalls it tries to mock. Fun combat and smooth platforming lose their energy when you don't unlock any more abilities and end up doing exactly what you did in the first game.
