Furi provides a greatly engaging, challenging, and unique gameplay experience along with a surprisingly deep below-the-surface campaign and a cast of intriguing characters. Although there are some technical shortcomings and certainly plenty of cheap insta-deaths, there's no denying that Furi provides a greatly difficult and stylized experience for those who seek it.
Darksiders is the same game it was back in 2010; a fantastic experience. The addition of enhanced visuals and a smoother frame rate only bolsters that fact. For new players, the Warmastered Edition is an enjoyable journey that encapsulates all the things that makes Darksiders great. For veterans of the series, saddle up Ruin and join War for another adventure. The apocalypse never looked so inviting!
A general point and click, with an interesting historical story, and great references to the occult. However, it lacks in sound design and graphics, plus some of the gameplay feels untidy.
This is a very good lengthy adventure into a world populated with humans, aliens, and other beings. It can be enjoyed by everyone, but in a better way if you're familiar with the source material. Despite some technical shortcomings, it is a recommended purchase for those who want to experience an action-packed, good-looking 3D fighting game.
This is the best episode so far for this Telltale series. The story never stops advancing, action is present, investigations are not too long and it really puts the pieces in place for an explosive finale. Can't wait to see how everything will wrap up!
Wheels of Aurelia is unlike any game I've played. It's 1970's style and original approach to story telling make for an experience you won't find anywhere else. Good or bad is a matter of opinion; what we have here is something new and for that alone, it's a road worth taking!
Senran Kagura Bon Appetit: Full Course is straight up fan-service for those who are into light-hearted anime-style titillation. Those of us willing to look beyond the jiggling breasts will find a fun and well designed rhythm game that hits all the right notes!
Ittle Dew 2 improves on the original in all departments. A larger world to explore, much better visuals and some of the catchiest tunes in gaming to date. It's biggest weakness is it's lack of innovation. Despite that, a sense of fun and a quirky attitude make Ittle Dew 2 a worthwhile and enjoyable dungeon crawler for casual and hardcore gamers alike!
Wang is back and he is so hard! Shadow Warrior 2 is all about fun and if you think of a game that blends the newest incarnation of Doom with Postal 2 then you'll be in the ball-park of what this game is about.
HoPiko is simplistic and incredibly good fun. It's punishing, paced action makes you think and react so quickly you'll feel awesome when you succeed. Conversely, you will probably walk away from your console infuriated at times, but you'll come back for "just one more go."
Saturday Morning RPG maintains an enjoyably light-hearted and nostalgic atmosphere through its excellent soundtrack, 80's reference-filled writing, and entertaining special attacks. The experience is lessened by repetitive gameplay, outdated 3D graphics, and a not-as-strong-as-anticipated amount of replay value. Regardless, it's a worthy addition to any turn-based RPG fan's gaming library, especially if they love their 80's movies.
Despite all of its shortcomings regarding the levels design, Kyurinaga's Revenge is an original game, in a well realized world, that will challenge you until the very end. It is difficult, its trophies are hard to get, but the variety of the worlds and its varied gameplay makes it an experience worth playing.
A great continuation of Batman/Bruce Wayne's story, with both sides perfectly fleshed out and as important. Stellar presentation and production value once again. Despite some technical issues, this is worth the price of admission and I'm very anxious to see how everything will turn out!
An enjoyably unsettling horror tale, Through the Woods will leave it's mark on you long after it's conclusion. Featuring superb sound design and gorgeous visuals, the story of a mother looking for her son on an eerie island straight out of Norse folklore, is definitely a journey worth taking!
Solid gameplay can get repetitive, but the quirky art style keeps things interesting, and there is great replay value.
The gameplay in Slain is fast, it's hard-hitting, and satisfying. The atmosphere is greatly immersing and the music excels at heightening the gameplay experience of every level. Only the number of cheap deaths and cheap projectile-focused enemies, along with the not-very-present replay value holds back an overall very enjoyable experience.
FIFA 17 improves in areas and then goes backwards in other areas. Journey Mode is a powerful addition and an exciting one at that. Ultimately, FIFA 17 is the best football game on offer as a whole package again this year but better than FIFA 16 I'm not totally convinced.
Rogue Stormers is a fun 2D shooter that combines nostalgia well with modern day gaming mechanics. The randomness of the levels and perks keeps each playthrough relatively fresh and makes a great game to come back to every so often to have a bit of fun with. Despite some slightly grating sound effects and a few technical hitches with multiplayer and enemies hiding in the environment aside, it is well worth a play.
Mantis Burn Racing proves its worth to players thanks to its easy-to-learn controls that allow for many hours of challenging racing throughout the Career mode and in multiplayer. However, due to the lack of modes and overall gameplay, playthroughs can become stale and repetitive, amounting to an overall gameplay experience that is entertaining, but not as long-lasting as players would hope for.
TOXIKK promises that you will "Frag like its 1999" and to be honest it delivers. However a distinct lack of players and servers of 8 players maximum let the game down. After you've played it a few times the novelty of playing an FPS like it's 1999 wears off...
