8 / 10.0 - MLB The Show 21
May 13, 2021

All in all, I believe MLB The Show 21 is pretty good at showing us the in’s and out’s of the wonderful game of baseball. the very fact that the controls can be tweaked to the player’s preferences really shows that the series as a whole is very welcoming to players of any skill level. On top of that, the adaptive difficulty setting scales depending on how the player is performing on the field. Potentially making it so that it’s not too difficult or too easy at any given time.

This is the most definitive version of the trilogy so far. For series veterans, we have a unified look for your customized Commander Shepard that you will experience adventures with till the bitter end. This not only applies to male Shepard. Female Shepard from the third game is the default model from the beginning. If that doesn’t put a smile on your face, I don’t know what will. For first-time players, you will get the best version of the games, complete with all the DLC’s. And a photo mode to boot! What more can you ask for?

7 / 10.0 - MotoGP 21
May 12, 2021

MotoGP 21 is a great choice for newcomers to the series as it introduces a rigorous tutorial mode that will get you playing and having fun in no time. However, returning fans might be disappointed to see that this year’s MotoGP game is mostly the same as last year’s with an included bike retrieval mechanic. Overall MotoGP 21 is still the premier motorcycle racing simulator on the market with the best feeling racing experience for both newcomers and veterans.

6 / 10.0 - Hitchhiker
May 12, 2021

The thing about this game is that it doesn’t sell itself based on its gameplay nor how anyone would ever want to play this game. Its biggest hook is that the game is all about the journey and discovery and that sense of escapism that most games usually don’t provide. It is an interesting game but it’s a game that I feel is not suited for everyone. But if you are just looking for a game to escape to. A game that will help you de-stress and just enjoy the visuals that it offers, then I would say this is a game that anyone should be interested in playing.

A fight with two different monsters will never be the same as they each have their own unique behavior and attack patterns that require different approaches. If you love thinking strategically and taking time to prepare, then this game might just be for you! There’s an exciting thrill to fighting larger beasts as you grind your equipment in preparation for the hunt. In this, Rise gets an excellent mark with our full recommendation to buy it.

To sum it all up, this is by far the best version you will get of the 2010 classic, and if you are a fan of Automata and wish to see how it started, this is a must buy and I thoroughly recommend a full playthrough. For those dipping their toes into the series, I would say give the first playthrough a shot and see if it grabs you, as it still has enough enjoyable factors without subsequent playthroughs to be a great JRPG on its own right, kinks and all. Its characters shine through its more middling combat and story to make me care how it’s going to end, and what ties it has to the sequel.

6.5 / 10.0 - Oddworld: Soulstorm
May 3, 2021

Oddworld: Soulstorm may not exceed your expectations, but it’s a nice reimagining of Abe’s Exodus. There’s a couple of hindrances like the throwing and stealth mechanics, but that doesn’t overshadow Oddworld: Soulstorm good feats like challenging levels, its nice visuals on PS5, and its amusing sets of characters.

6.5 / 10.0 - Outriders
Apr 13, 2021

If you have the patience for it, I highly suggest that you give this game a try. Its combat mechanic is one of the best in its genre in years. Unlike its contemporaries in the same field, which are stereotyped as having vanilla storylines, this game’s story is engaging and awe-inducing. When this game works, it will send you on a fantastic journey worth going through. As soon as it fails, however, it fails tremendously. If that’s something you don’t have the patience for, just wait for a couple of months for updates and for the game’s server to become stable.

All in all, Balan Wonderworld just wasn’t the game for me. The gameplay was tedious, the story was all over the place and the mechanics belonged to either a prehistoric or an unfinished game. To be quite honest, I’d say that the price to get into Balan Wonderworld is too high for an experience with the quality too low.

Evil Genius 2: World Domination has heart and humor which makes for a couple of memorable, chuckle-worthy moments. It can be intensely satisfying when you finally figure out how to do the things you need to do. The game’s music and atmosphere are very well crafted too. This is a game you can sink hours upon hours into, but your experience will be both good and awful, which is a bad thing to experience when it comes to a lair-builder game. It has a ton of quandaries Rebellion Developments will have to iron out in future updates, but for a game belonging to its genre, it’s not necessarily a bad game. However, at times, especially later on, calling it an “enjoyable game” increasingly becomes more and more untruthful.

10 / 10.0 - It Takes Two
Mar 25, 2021

Video games like It Takes Two are difficult to craft. The studio needs to build upon considering how to make the two players feel important without leaving out the other and keeping them engaged. Fortunately, the variety of gameplay mechanics it adds to every chapter keeps everyone entertained, plus the humor and the comical Dr. Hakim makes the entire playthrough fun. The development might have been challenging for Hazelight but they managed to pull through and make a co-op game that’s equally stunningly, wisely executed with an emotionally driven story, and enjoyable.

9.5 / 10.0 - Persona 5 Strikers
Mar 2, 2021

Persona 5 Strikers is a game that will have you playing it for hours on end. A game that expands the Persona 5 mythos and is a welcome addition for those who want more adventures with the Phantom Thieves. If you are a fan of the game, there should be no hesitation on your part to get this game and enjoy it.

Destruction AllStars can be memorable but it’s not one of those exclusive launch games that would make an impact. I’m afraid that with the content Destruction AllStars has to offer, it will not be enough for players to stay and play for a long time, the game needs more horsepower to convince PS5 owners to buy it after it’s out of PlayStation Plus. We might see another live-service game going downhill in just a few months especially with the price-tag of $69.99. Until this becomes free-to-play, I don’t see the game living beyond a year with a decent amount of players behind the steering wheel.

Little Nightmares II is a sequel that everyone can love especially those die-hard fans of the franchise. You’re still greeted with unexpected threats lurking in every dark corner, the uneasy feeling you get when you walk through corridors and windows, and the unexpected twist at the end. I had a great time in my 5-6 hours of playthrough and I can say, it’s worth binging through all the chapters in one sitting. But that ending, wow.

10 / 10.0 - The Pedestrian
Feb 14, 2021

I don’t think it should be longer than it should be as well as I feel like more would just probably make you want to stop playing it. The amount of puzzles is just enough to make you feel you have accomplished an impossible task. I’m sure some will argue the puzzles are easy but I daresay otherwise. The level of complexity and thought that they’ve put into each puzzle is something to be amazed at.

6.5 / 10.0 - The Medium
Feb 13, 2021

The Medium was a game I really wanted to like. With its gorgeous graphics, old school tank control gameplay, and musical pieces composed by Akira Yamaoka himself it had everything that promised a memorable experience. But at the end, the journey was unfulfilling and forgettable.

7.5 / 10.0 - Hitman 3
Feb 3, 2021

Much like Agent 47, Hitman 3 appeals to those willing to craft their skills to perfection. Mastering every level can require thorough exploration of the environment and a grasp of how NPC’s behave. If you’re one of those who crave that experience, then Hitman 3 has our full recommendation.

4 / 10.0 - Cyberpunk 2077
Dec 24, 2020

It all comes down to the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that’s broken, inconsistently written and immature. That would be forgivable if the game was great, but in truth it isn’t much more than the sum of its borrowed parts. It remains to be seen in the court of long-term consumer opinion whether CD Projekt RED is truly criminal, but there’s no denying that they’ve been caught.

9 / 10.0 - Astro's Playroom
Dec 12, 2020

Astro’s Playroom successfully showcases the capabilities of the PlayStation 5, giving us the true next-gen experience we’ve been waiting for since the PlayStation 3. It’s not about having the “powerful” hardware that can run games at native 8K, but it’s the number of games that can give us meaningful, interesting worlds and gameplay. The PlayStation 5 has that and with Astro’s Playroom, you already have an idea what Sony has to offer in the next couple of years.

5 / 10.0 - Empire of Sin
Dec 10, 2020

I can’t for the life of me recommend Empire of Sin without giving it more time to iron out its issues. Gameplay-wise, it is quite enjoyable, but that enjoyable aspect gets drowned out in all the issues it has. Wait for them to fix the game until you decide to get it, and possibly a free story expansion with more icons to play with.
