Whether you’re a veteran of the genre or have never played a 4X game in your life, this game will give you a truly unique, fun and exciting experience that you won’t want to put down. Even if you’re not sure if you’d enjoy a 4X game, let me be the missionary to convert you to the amazing world of Sid Meier’s: Civilization VI.
I do love a game that puts up a challenge, and for that, Hitman Episode 5: Colorado didn’t disappoint. There will be times that I get bored with stealth games, but this episode puts my mind and strategy into a test.
The Halo series has always been one of the biggest franchises since its release and still continues to do the same with Halo 5. From its story to its multiplayer it does everything with greatness and with constant updates for multiplayer all added free of charge to its community that continues to grow everyday. With Halo Wars 2 and Halo 6 on their way, there is no stopping this series in the near future.
Shadow Warrior 2 doesn't usually take itself too seriously with its dick jokes and outrageous story, which is the way this game should be. Don't take this game seriously and you will have a wonderful time even if the dick jokes might get a little boring from time to time. With tons of replayability and multiplayer goodness for only $39.99, Shadow Warrior 2 is a great game to add to your collection this year.
The best way to explain ReCore is that it's a game that has the fundamentals of an action platformer nailed, but just to add more "purpose" is walled off at every turn by a progress gate. Give me my fetch quests, I would kill 15 robots, as long as I do not ever need to see a Prismatic Orb ever again.
Criminal Girls 2: Party Favors, does what it promised. It takes what was good about Invite Only, and makes it better with adding more ways to play and a better story to follow. Party Favors is a great dungeon crawler with unique aspects that does well to separate itself from other rpgs on the PS Vita and is a great addition to add to your PS Vita library.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location is perfect for the people who just can’t get enough of that juicy lore. For such a short game, it is packed with secrets and a great investment for the diehard FNAF fan at a list price of $7.99 USD at the time of this review on Steam. Not sure what Five Night’s at Freddy’s is? Don’t buy this game. Horror fan looking for something to rock your world this Halloween? Don’t buy this game. While this is far from the worst game I’ve ever played, I have also completed visual novels that had more gameplay. This game is for a specific person, and that person already know they want this game anyway. For you? I can’t recommend it.
Legend of Kay Anniversary is a game that reminds you of the PS2 era of gaming and can be somewhat nostalgic but it also reminds you that sometimes the past isn't always the best. Neon Studios has stated that they would like to continue the Legend of Kay series in the future. If they learn from the mistakes of the this game while keeping the core gameplay then I'm sure they can make a great game.
It was one of the more fun campaign experiences I've had in a very long time, and at 15 hours for a first play-through, it's not too bad for a game that's $30 USD at the time of this review. On top of an improved multiplayer experience and a good chunk of replayability, it's hard not to recommend this game. It's also really fun seeing what terrible situations you can get Dom stuck in.
SteamWorld Heist, like the other SteamWorld games before it, is simple yet complex. It is a very accessible turn-based RPG with a lot of character. The characters are interesting and the core gameplay is very engaging. All of that wrapped up in a Firefly-like space adventure makes this a game that is very difficult for me to put down.
Just Cause 3, if we were to go back several years, would have been a pretty darn good game. I mean just look at your predecessors. The problem lies in it being released in 2015, and the rules that made up open world sandbox games has changed pretty dramatically. Worlds are not just worlds for your chaos, but an interactive experience. It is too simple.
Even if the enemy A.Is are not smart as I thought they would be, the story and great supporting characters has kept me pushing forward towards the end. Mafia III is still a good starter for newcomers into the franchise but that's until Hangar 13 fixes those annoying bugs and visual hiccups.
Watch Dogs was graphically disappointing on launch from how it was presented in E3 2012 but what it offered in terms of gameplay and replayability, the game does not disappoint. You'll have a lot of things to do in Watch Dogs to keep you company and that overshadows the flaws of it. We hope to see more better gameplay, improved driving, and an interesting story in Watch Dogs 2 this year.
The story was built up in a steady pace but it lost its charm by the time it reached the end with all the questions it left unanswered. It’s something a future patch may fix by providing an alternate ending or possibly a sequel or the same game but through a different perspective. It’s just a short and relatively cheap game on the market and we recommend it if you have the time or if you are interested enough to crack the story yourself.
Children of Arkham has the balance of you playing as Batman and Bruce Wayne. The story keeps getting better and better, and interestingly enticing. I like where Telltale is going with their first season of Batman, and I am thrilled to know what Episode 3: New World Order has to offer.
This episode felt more similar to Episode: Paris and there’s nothing new from what I’ve experienced so far in this series. Aside from the minor glitches and how bland the episode is, we are yet to see what Hitman has to offer in the USA and Japan episodes.
I like how Guerilla Games went to a path that Killzone: Shadow Fall has taken. It was not your ordinary shooter game that you run and shoot, but a first-person shooter that gives out some diversity in its formula. Killzone: Shadow Fall never failed to deliver what a next-generation title should be, and it's still worth it to play today.
The game creates a dynamicity of feelings within the player. From being calm and cool-headed to frantic and panicky. There's really no end to what you need to be in order to beat this game. Whether you're in the offense or in the defense side of it, the possibilities on how to approach There Came an Echo is endless.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is an excellent sequel to Human Revolution and one that any fan of stealth games should buy.
The game probably would have benefited by just being a mobile game, as it does not stand well in what is expected from a PC game, but there are still design choices which come into question anyways. It does not take full advantage of what the narrative has to offer, and while it is limited by it, the game still is a mess of various ideas. If you want to experience the story of Eisenhorn that badly, this might be for you, but it is not going to win any new customers for Games Workshop’s beloved franchise.
