Astral Chain may be a game that combines action and RPG elements in an excellent way but merely stating this would be a serious understatement. Nearly everything in Astral Chain drips with quality, labour and dedication, from its intense and frantic combats to the exquisite art style and wonderful soundtrack, this is without any doubt the finest new IP to reach the Nintendo Switch and another reminder of why Platinum Games deserves all the praise it can get.

If the beginning is entirely mired in a dull and monotonous ambiance, the game advances into a visually stimulating territory as the puzzles become more challenging, along with a soundtrack that matches the events in each and every moment. If anything, Hue needs a greater length, so that players could appreciate its artistic qualities for longer.

Its combat system does not reach the highest standards and the lack of a multiplayer and online components stand out negatively but for those who don't see the latter two as priorities of the highest importance, Zombie Driver - Immortal Edition is varied and fun enough to give players some very enjoyable moments.

Nelke and the Legendary Alchemists adds a city simulation component to the Atelier series and brings a wealth of interaction between the series' characters, which will be thoroughly enjoyed by Atelier fans. It doesn't break any significant grounds and some of its goals feel repetitive in a short time but its mechanics are simple to learn and the game's wide variety of characters will be certainly welcomed by anyone who enjoys the series.

Pawarumi lands in a busy field amidst any 2D shoot'em ups on the Nintendo Switch catalogue but it does a very good job at standing out. Thanks to its 'rock, paper, scissors' system which makes the gameplay more involving and challenging, Pawarumi is also a game with a strong personality and it's certain to appeal to fans of 2D shooters.

Its plot and concept definitely stand out and fortunately for Dandy Dungeon, the result is a very good one, as its gameplay mechanics, actions and competitiveness easily make it an experience that anyone who wants something original will absolutely cherish and appreciate.

Stranger Things 3: The Game can get the job done when it comes to recreating the environment of the very popular Netflix series, which by itself makes the game attractive to fans of Stranger Things, but the story is different when it comes to providing an interesting and involving gameplay, as its RPG elements feel superficial and the combat is far from enjoyable.

Rise: Race the Future brings simplicity back to racing games and reduces the experience to a minimal but competent formula that puts all emphasis on the steering skills and art style. Anyone who puts some time into this game will find a challenging work but those looking for a multiplayer experience should strongly consider their options, as Rise: Race the Future features only single player choices.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses features the finest game world, plot and gameplay of the series and even if certain aspects of its execution do raise some questions, its varied and rich world, high quality writing, exquisite soundtrack and the way its characters are shaped by the plot mean that nobody will be left untouched by this marvelous work, even if it might not be the ultimate Fire Emblem game that many expected.

Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble is a turn-based strategy game for the Nintendo Switch that follows its predecessor from two years ago and which improves on pretty much every aspect possible. With its in-depth offer of strategic gameplay options, large amount of content and very strong technical execution, Full Metal Rumble is a marvel of a game that also acts as a tribute to the games that inspired it.

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 is undoubtedly a fun and well-written point and click adventure which features very challenging (if sometimes frustrating) puzzles, an involving plot and a laudable art style. It would be an easy game to recommend to nearly everyone were it not for its exaggerated price compared to the same game on other platforms and being a point and click adventure, it could certainly benefit from touch screen controls.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a Metroidvania title that features many of the ideas that could make one of the finest games in this genre, with its challenging structure and gameplay mechanics. Where Ritual of the Night falls short is mostly on its technical performance, with long loading times, inconsistencies and formatting problems and some incomprehensible framerate drops. This game might be a fan service effort but it still needs to have its flaws addressed.

BOXBOY! + BOXGIRL! follows on the BOXBOY! series, this time with a cooperative component which brings a welcome addition to the game, as well as with new mechanics. Puzzle solving gains a more appealing component and character customization can lead to new fun and interesting creations. LOST ORBIT: Terminal is a challenging game based on exploration and with incentives for the players to improve their skills. With its well-humoured plot and emphasis on high scores, LOST ORBIT: Terminal could benefit from having shorter loading times but there is no doubt that this is a game that will appeal to players who enjoy seeking higher scores.

Kill la Kill: IF is a fighting game based on the animation series of the same name and it does a very good job at following its source material, as the game often feels like a playable version of the animation series, down to its plot and charismatic characters. Its simple gameplay mechanics will be quickly assimilated by most players but the experience feels a bit shallow, not to mention short, as the game's main play modes do not go beyond a few hours. That doesn't stand in the way of Kill la Kill: IF being a very recommended option for fans of the series.

In this case, the risk taken to develop a game with such strange characteristics pays off, as this is a game that features a unique atmosphere and works quite well, especially in multiplayer. Were it not for its over-reliance on trial and error and its rather short experience, this could be an outstanding game but as it is, Hungry Baby Party Treats is very recommended to fans of party games.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is pretty much what can be expected of a sequel in the sense that it improves on practically everything its predecessor presented. With its immense, open world, new possibilities of exploration and an improved progression system, Dragon Quest Builders 2 will not only appeal to fans of the previous game but to everyone who enjoys spending time exploring and building cities.

Metagal is an action-platform game based on several recognizable classic series of previous generations and it does a good job at that, as the game will certainly catch the eyes of that target audience. Where Metagal could have gone further is where it concerns its own ideas, which end up being sidelined in a way that would make this an even better game, were those ideas given more protagonism.

Nippon Marathon could have been a fun and enjoyable party game: its unusual concept and amount of game modes are a good start but sadly, they cannot overcome the game's poor gameplay experience, which will quickly drive any player into bouts of frustration and repetitiveness, not to mention that the game's audiovisual component is simply outdated and nowhere near what is expected at this day and age.
