Chompy Chomp Chomp Party is a simple but fun and addictive party game that will bring back many memories of Pac-Man. It's not very ambitious and could have more content but this doesn't stand on the way of a nine-player experience that will get groups of players around the Wii U for some very fun moments.

Epic Dumpster Bear is competent at providing a hilarious, long-lasting and varied platforming experience that doesn't take itself too seriously. Beyond that, it's a rather standard game that doesn't rely on anything else, certainly not on its simple visual and audio atmosphere. While players looking for a funny platformer will be entertained, those who crave a more in depth and technically gratifying experience will look elsewhere.

Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright could very well be an outstanding chapter in a series that is cherished for its narratives and gameplay mechanics. Unfortunately Birthright falls down before it reaches its goal. Its very good production values and sharp combats openly clash with an uninspired and dull narrative, poorly implemented difficulty curve, generic and empty characters and the simple fact that it just doesn't work as a stand alone game in the first place.

Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest clearly stands out as one of the greatest titles in Nintendo's tactical RPG series. Improving on its formula while delivering what the players expect, this chapter provides a rich, refined and long-lasting gameplay experience, along with a magnificent visual work and an extremely demanding difficulty level. Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest shows that it's possible to improve key aspects of an established formula while remaining loyal to its roots.

Mutant Mudds Super Challenge is pretty much what its name suggests - a more challenging take on the game Mutant Mudds. It may not introduce new concepts or new mechanics or even a new environment but it offers a significant challenge based on the original game and in the end, when the result is this much fun and addictive, it can be forgiven for not breaking any new grounds.

4 / 10 - Grumpy Reaper
Apr 25, 2016

The Grumpy Reaper is based on an interesting and original concept which is severely ruined by the way the game was executed.

Star Fox Guard offers a cleverly designed asymmetric gameplay concept on a tower defense game based on the Star Fox series. Its mechanics are simple but very effective and its content is large enough for a long and fun experience, whether solo or online.

2 / 10 - STEEL RIVALS
Apr 20, 2016

Steel Rivals comes off as a game which was not finished and simply not ready for a home release. This is a technically blotched effort that is unable to keep a minimum standard of visual stability, let alone offer a fun and compelling challenge. Add to this the dearth of visual stimulation, the disproportionate gap between the characters' capabilities and the complete lack of help or explanation given to the players and the result is a game that is simply not fun to play at all.

7 / 10 - Star Fox Zero
Apr 19, 2016

Star Fox Zero follows the classic structure of its predecessors and tops it off with a new control system that will make or break how the players perceive Nintendo's latest opus in the Star Fox series. It could certainly benefit from a more luxurious visual environment but once its new control system has been mastered, the players will find this new collectables-packed journey across the Lylat system nothing short of rewarding and satisfying.

7 / 10 - Yo-Kai Watch
Apr 19, 2016

A stunning looking RPG with fun interactions and gameplay, Yo-Kai Watch packs over one hundred hours of lifespan to explore fully. While it could have invested more in developing its plot, it's a very welcome arrival to the European market of a game that has spawned a successful series in its home country.

Blast 'Em Bunnies ends up being an example of how downloadable content should not be managed at all.

Review in Portuguese |

Risky's Revenge - Director's Cut does not stand out as much as its predecessor did, which is no shame as this is a game that features a good balance between exploration of locations and backtracking and Shantae's magic spells and transforming skills are delightful. It could go further on the boss fights and in terms of content but that doesn't stand on its way of being a very enjoyable game for those who like exploring and backtracking in a metroidvania style.

Inside My Radio offers something unique, in the sense that a music-based platformer is not the most common offer on the Wii U's catalogue among the many platformers already available. However and other than a certain glow derived from its aesthetics, this game isn't a groundbreaking title among its peers and offers little replay value beyond the first hours of gameplay.

Mega Man Legacy Collection is an invitation to explore the first six Mega Man games and it succeeds at striking a chord both with longtime Mega Man fans and with those less familiar with the series. As good as this compilation is, it could only be improved by fixing frame rate drops in certain busy areas and with more content, especially more games of the Mega Man series which could have easily been included in this title.

Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games is a party game featuring a rich cast of 40 characters from the worlds of Super Mario and Sonic, who battle themselves through the Olympic events. Unfortunately, a set group of characters is limited to certain events, the story mode is short, flat and somewhat uninteresting.

The major obstacle to its mission is the lack of translation options, which puts its problems strictly within the realm of understanding of students who have already mastered the mathematical concepts tested in the game.

7 / 10 - 6180 The Moon
Mar 31, 2016

6180 the moon is an original and well thought game that blends puzzles and platforming around a concept centered on the action shifting from one screen to another. While in some moments this might cause a certain confusion when the player has to switch focus back and forth between the television and the Wii U GamePad, the levels are well built and the difficulty, while not being too high, will pose a satisfying challenge.

2 / 10 - Joe's Diner
Mar 30, 2016

Other than an original concept, the game suffers from a lack of identity and overall guiding principles, poor execution, a sub par visual environment, a dull and repetitive gameplay and does not satisfy or fulfill the criteria for any type of game the players are looking for.

4 / 10 - Alphadia
Mar 28, 2016

While its gameplay is obviously based on the games that inspired it, Alphadia does not provide anything groundbreaking which could set it apart from other games of the genre and the lack of development of the characters or of any other of its elements condemn it to being a rather shallow effort which would greatly benefit from one or two new gameplay mechanics.

Review in Portuguese |

The game remains addictive, especially in its cartography system, and its contents will keep the most demanding players entertained for nearly 50 hours. While its plot and characters end up falling for the usual JRPG clichés and the restaurant management system is hardly the most exciting feature, this remains a fine game whose shortcomings are minimized by its all its redeeming qualities.
