Enough time, energy and money has been spent on creating Ghosts that it's still a decent game in its own right, but eight games on from COD4, this series seriously needs a revolution to get it back on track as the FPS king.
With its large scale warfare simulator simultaneously at its most accessible and long-term-fan pleasing level for years, and with CoD: Ghosts looking a little tired, it may just be the year of Battlefield.
Whilst it has some excellent exploration and puzzle segments, Deadfall Adventures is marred by its mediocre combat, frequent bugs and a story that struggles to keep the player engaged.
A satisfying return to the city that started it all. It's a strong piece of DLC with some niggling issues that will hopefully be ironed out when the second part rolls around.
Rocksmith 2014 is the definitive software package when it comes to learning bass, lead or rhythm guitar. It will take a while to get to grips with the visual queues the game feeds you, but once you've overcome that hurdle you'll go from rank amateur to shredding like a pro in a flash.
Black Flag presents a game world that is wonderfully historic, yet incredibly fun. Being a pirate is one of those childhood fantasies I'd love to live and ACIV brings me one step closer. Probably as close as I'm going to get without the help of an actual animus.
With great wit and humour, Foul Play is a thoroughly enjoyable brawler that will keep you entertained for a good while.
