So much wasted potential that would do well by taking notes from From Other Suns.
Super Cane Magic Zero is a crazy, weird, out of this world game that is fun for the first hour or so before getting frustrated with the controls and attempts at weird humor.
The vast customisation options and realistic aspects make it a must-play for any horse racing enthusiast.
There is some stuff to enjoy about Shoppe Keep 2, but there's unfortunately some stuff to dislike. It feels like it left Early Access a little prematurely, as it's missing some things as I've explained, which would have helped the quality of life.
198X feels like it was made specifically for me and my nostalgia. Despite it being very short, I love everything 198X is trying to do and I think it succeeds with excellent results. I can't wait to see what kind of games they will bring in part two.
Overall, the game seems very unbalanced, with poor sound usage, simple animations, messy UI, and a difficulty curve after death.
A very difficult game that can be frustrating at times, but ultimitely does keep you entertained. Worth adjusting the difficulty to make it more playable.
Metal Wolf Chaos XD isn't big or clever, but if you want to get your kicks as a mech shooting and blowing things up while being an all-American patriot, then there's only one choice - believe in your own justice!
One of the weirdest concepts for a videogame I have ever seen, but it somehow works. While the later levels can get infuriatingly challenging compared to the earlier ones, Supermarket Shriek has a great selection of game modes, a hilarious visual style, and excellent level design that had me consistently applauding the developer.
If you're a fan of the action RPG genre and love to dish out major pain to monsters that would otherwise eviscerate you, you've found the game.
SteamWorld Quest Hand of Gilgamech is a very fun, beautifully designed RPG, deck building game that can be beaten in a short time but does have some minor drawbacks.
With TRIGGER's involvement for the design and Kazuki Nakashima's involvement for the story, they managed to help deliver the style, music and hype that fans of the anime – such as myself – loved while creating an all-new "what if" story that may have fans returning to the anime.
A brilliant concept with some excellent ideas, let down badly by the game engine, inconsistent writing and plotting
Another solid entry into the F1 franchise for Codemasters. It's nice to see them expanding the game to represent how drivers work their way up into the F1 roster from the F2 feeder series. Being able to build your driver up from (an albeit short) F2 career really lends credence to the story of your driver making their way up through the ranks.
A great time if you don't care about the story and you just want to mess around in an open-world destroying everything in sight. It can feel a little tedious after a while, but the immensely impressive destructibility for just about everything will keep you engaged to the end.
There's a really good core game here, but it's let down by the overall presentation. If you enjoy snooker though, you can easily look past this to enjoy it for what it is.
Is Metal Gear Survive worth it? Oh yeah, totally. Game of the Year. Honestly, I don't know why you haven't bought it yet! Death Stranding won't be able to compete with this. Sarcasm aside, don't buy this game, just don't. Yeah, the environments and visuals are kind of neato and the feeling of helplessness certainly comes across, but it's just a clusterfuck.
Senran Kagura: Peach Ball might be lacking in variety but offers an enjoyable pinball experience complete with lewdness that is sure to keep players engaged for hours.
Once I changed the controls to something more comfortable, I had a blast playing through the well-crafted adventure mode and all the tracks and challenges that reside in it, even if the CPU players had the rubber band effect.
A love letter to the series, Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth is a challenging but rewarding dungeon crawling experience even if a little rough around the edges.
