8 / 10 - Pato Box
Jul 11, 2018

Overall, Pato Box is a solid effort from Mexican indie Bromio, and a welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch library. It pays homage to the Punch-Out!! series while doing its own thing with a very interesting art style that reminded me of MadWorld on Nintendo Wii, which is definitely a good thing since that's a great looking game on Nintendo's “two generations ago” console! Your mileage with Pato Box might vary depending on how on board you are with having to finish a level before being able to take on a boss fight, but if you give this one a chance hopefully you're going to appreciate what Bromio has done on Nintendo's hybrid console.

7 / 10 - Garage
Jul 10, 2018

Garage is a nice homage to the B-movies of the 1980s, with some top-down action that is not as over the top as other entries in the genre (think Hotline Miami). I had fun during my time with the game, and hopefully you'll give this one a change on Nintendo Switch.

9 / 10 - Runbow
Jul 9, 2018

As you can tell from our review, we're both big fans of platforming games like the beloved Rayman series, so playing Runbow for our review was a blast! The single and multiplayer experiences are quite fun and lengthy, so even if you're a fan of only one or the other, you'll find more than enough in this game to have fun. And if you happen to like playing solo and multiplayer, you've hit the jackpot with this game since its only $15!

Wizard of Legend is a great roguelike with a different feel form the other ones I have played. The game doesn't do a lot of hand-holding and because everything is procedurally generated it can make it quite difficult to master. But if you figure out how to maximize the game's loop then you are in for a treat. Be sure to check this one out!

The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker is a different type of mystery game thanks to its theme, gameplay mechanics and FMV segments. This is a long game that will take you around 8 hours or so to complete, and even longer if you want to add another Platinum trophy to your collection, since you'll need to ask hundreds of questions, as well as find the real killer of Doctor Dekker. I had a blast playing the game since I've now become a fan of FMV games, and I look forward to seeing what new FMV game Wales Interactive gives us next.

Khara: The Game from indie DNA Softworks on PlayStation 4 is a short but fun adventure that is worth your time. The team did a great job with its first game release, with a soundtrack that fits the action perfectly, pushing forward during large landscapes and being just right during the tense boss battles. I look forward to seeing what the studio does next on PS4!

The Adventures of Elena Temple is a minimalist 2D action platformer that takes us back to a time when games where more simple… and we liked it that way! The different classic console skins you can use to play the game add a ton of nostalgia to the mix, and the tight gameplay mechanics make this one a fun and short game to play at home or on the go that is very easy to recommend.

8 / 10 - Light Fall
Jun 29, 2018

Light Fall is a fun and challenging 2D platformer with more than enough content to offer for its asking price. The difficulty curve feels just right, bumping up the challenge as you go at a steady pace without ever feeling overwhelming or unfair. It's a solid platformer on Nintendo Switch, and the secret rooms where you will find most of the yellow crystals to collect will test your skills even further as you try to use your cubed to defend from the hazards you find.

8 / 10 - One Strike
Jun 29, 2018

One Strike is a different type of fighting game that is clever and fun on Nintendo Switch, offering something that is certainly very different from other fighters in the console. The game's great pixel look, the tight gameplay, and solid soundtrack make this one a game we definitely recommend that you check out.

9 / 10 - Rainbow Skies
Jun 27, 2018

Five years is a long time to wait for a game, and it has the effect of raising expectations considerably. In that sense, the game fell a bit flat for me in some areas because of the long wind up before the story actually kicks off. But once I got over that, Rainbow Skies gave me all the fun I needed from a tactical RPG, and is definitely a game that any fan of the genre should pick up. SideQuest Studios have created another indie gem that will have you sinking dozens of hours into it, and hopefully it won't take another 5 years for a sequel!

I love jigsaw puzzles, so Animated Jigsaws: Beautiful Japanese Scenery was something I greatly enjoyed. Ten puzzles might not sound like much, but having them available in options from 60 to 240 pieces certainly increases the overall time needed to complete each one. Add the local co-op multiplayer component, and you have a solid game that does what it sets out to do: give us an easy to playa and relaxing puzzle game.

I really enjoyed my time with Super Mega Baseball 2. It's a fun arcade-style baseball game that does away with any type of sim aspect you might find in games like MLB: The Show, to focus on what really matters at the end: gameplay. If you're a fan of arcade baseball games then you should definitely check this one.

I was sad that my time spent with I Hate Running Backwards wasn't as fun as what I expected it to be. I really love the Serious Sam franchise, but this time, taking things into a shoot 'em up gameplay, and cranking up the difficulty to eleven… well, this game is definitely not for everyone. I Hate Running Backwards looks great and there's a ton of content to play… if you manage to survive that long!

Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is a fun button masher that brings Shaq back to the world of video games – you know, outside of a proper basketball game that is. The original Shaq-Fu was a fighting game, and now Shaq enters the beat ‘em up genre with a fun release that, while a bit repetitive due to its genre, is certainly fun.

9 / 10 - FOX n FORESTS
Jun 22, 2018

Bonus Level Entertainment have produced a very nice retro platformer with FOX n FORESTS that is a lot of fun to play. The only issue some of you might have is the pice of the game which is $20 for a 5-6 hours adventure, but while short it's definitely very fun.

Smoke and Sacrifice is a tough and challenging game with lots to do to be able to survive. The difficulty curve might get in your way here and there at some points, and the lack of tutorials is definitely not for everyone, but if you give this one a chance I'm sure you will not be disappointed.

Monster Slayers is a good and fun dungeon crawler with a card twist that makes this one feel interesting during the many runs you'll need to do – at least if you want to add a new Platinum trophy for your collection! There are many classes to play as, several cards to upgrade and many options of how to build up your characters in subsequent runs, so you'll definitely find something to like as you try and make it to the end to bring peace to the realm.

Riddled Corpses EX is a fun arcade-style twin-stick release that is a great pick-up-and-play release. I do feel it benefits from being on PlayStation Vita since it's perfect for playing short 10-15 minute sessions here and there, instead of having to sit down for longer gaming sessions. Cowcat did a lot of work to give us an enhanced version of Riddled Corpses on Sony's portable, hence the EX in the title, making this the definitive version and a game you should definitely try.
